NO TAIL LIGHTS ON A 96 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

My tail lights just went out. I have had a problem with my dash lights going on and off like there is a short. I also keep blowing fuses for the inside lights. I got a wiring diagram and tried to by pass the lights out module in the back but no luck. Any suggestions?

Grand cherokees have a lot of problems with burned out taillight bulb sockets . they are yellow and twist out of the tail lamp. take them out they will ususly have black burn spots on them.. when they are bad.very common....

Bad ground to dash circuitry....... dont overlook anything ... the powers are suspect also but not as likely ... do it right , dont rewire /hotwire it... it will be easier to find the problem then Frankenstein it.... good luck

I can't get the vehicle information center in my 96 Jeep grand Cherokee to work no lights, warning, nothing, can't locate exact fuse but all looks good?

I would start with the Fuse Box under the hood. Start by pulling the Fuse's 1 at a TIME!! I have done it befor time & time agean. It's probley by the Battery. It's a black box that has " Main Fuse " or something alone that line. There just like the Fuses under the Dash, BUT BIGGER! They can be hard to tell if they blew. I have done it so, much that I know. If it's not that I would check the Fuse Box in the Dash. Jerry Dunn

I'm looking for the right fuse for my tail lights

The tail/running light fuse on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, is Fuse #6. It's called "Parking Lights" .The fuse panel, located on the passenger's side of the car.Also under the dash. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com

Where is the fuse for the tail lights for jeep '96 grand cherokee

Unfortunately, could not find owners manual for 1996.

Website only has models 2004-current
=> http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html

There are two fuse boxes. One under driver compartment usually left to the steering colum. A label is stamp to identify each fuse. I would look at Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuses. The easy way is to take a flashlight and look at all fuses. If they are all okay. Then just remove the Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuse and reseat them. The other fuse box is under the hood and near the batter. It also has a label to identify each fuse.
