Head lights and dash lights flickering on and off while driving

My husbands 2002 dodge durango started acting up last night. As he was driving the head lights and dash lights started to flicker. The dash would go black for a second and the head lights would go real dim then come back. Can you please help to diagnose. Is it just a fuse and if so where is the fuse located?

I'm having the exact same problem, it's scaring my wife as she is the main driver of it. Any help?

The instrument panel lights would flicker on and off, the speedometer would "jump" around, the ABS brake light and the parking brake light would come on and stay on. Eventually while driving up my driveway, all of the lights (including headlights) flashed a couple of times, the entire vehicle turned itself off and then back on again. When it turned back on, all of the gauges were acting erratic.

It sounds like a bad ground or loose connection on the battery

Head lights flicker at night every once in a while.more and more recently. a couple of times every mile. all other dash and radio lights seamed fine. have not had any issues with day driving or starting.

Sounds like a ground issue to me. I would have the wiring checked for any ground issues. If its getting bad this could cause the flickering as you drive. This is what I ran into a while back. Hope this helps!!

Brake light flickers while driving down the road.

Check the brake fluid. It may be just low enough to occasionally turn the light on as you hit bumps and it sloshes a little. Add a little brake fluid to the reservoir and check the brake pads all around.

Dad's Dodge Durango light problems

The proper way to jump start is to start the car that is doing the boosting first then connect the cables, making sure that the polarities are right, negative to negative and vice versa. The reason for this is that while cranking the car doing the boosting, the the car with the low battery suffer a significant voltage spike since the sudden draw of current will pull the voltage down on a weak battery, and when the car do start, the voltage suddenly goes up, adding to that, the alternator bring the voltage even higher. Electronic circuits are sesitive to these voltage spikes. Still I doubt your problem is caused by these unless theses things you are having problems with are controlled electronic,.

Left drive lights not working

It sounds like a couple of blown bulbs. Open up the light fixture where the drive lights are found and replace the bulbs.
