Question about 1988 Volvo 240
I went to the junk yard and got a wiper motor to replace my old one. but when I pulled the old one off the shaft stayed and thats attached behind the firewall. the replacement I got has the shaft secured in the wiper motor and a 2 or so inch arm attached with a bolt I can get the arm off but I t doesn't look like I should be pulling on that shaft. It looks like I need to get in behind the firewall and unbolt it from there. my thought is the fact that the shaft came out of the motor is the reason its not working. also the one I took off looks like an after market motor (no volvo stamp) 88. Its snowing I need wipers
That connection..is a replaceable part that fails most often..pop it off and use same shaft..or even just the clip replacement with old wiper motor ..have you tested it as failed ?....can you hear it whirring when installed or even clunking as it rotates against disconnected arm?
