SOURCE: Front end problems

You have mentioned everything except the one thing that most early 89-93 tbirds had and could happen to the newer tbirds:the Strut bar bushings, although they are thinner on the later years the fact remains that they also will fail.

see if you can get the Moog brand (problem solver)

1996 Ford Thunderbird LX V8 Automatic Transmission shudder

Check rear emergency brakes if you have 4 wheel discs. When soot and brake lining fall to bottom of assembly they jam and shudder until wheels start rolling fast enough to scatter debris.

Also if posi equipped there is a needed rear-end additive to help clutch plates work. Perhaps clean rear-end lube and additive is needed.

Replaced fan twice and it still wont run

check the temp sensor on the lower radiator hose. Have it tested by pulling the plug on the sensor. It is located at the end of the hose towards the engine. If you pull out the plug the fan should go on. If the fan turns on you may need to replace the temp sensor. If it does not turn on check the relay usually found in the small plastic boxes under the hood. The cover of the boxes usually has a diagram to tell what the components are.
