Hi, My postmans Megane has the same grief, I tried changing the power steering fluid but made it worse, looks like the pump itself.
If your clutch is heavy to then the cable is possibly stretched and needs replacing.
Oh Make sure there aren't any carpets under the clutch stopping the full travel of your pedal.
Good Luck.

I exchange gear box oill in renault repair room in 28000 kilometer but now (34000 k/3)the car chech gear box has sown, i think repair man make mistake and he decided change gear box can u help me in

there would be no need to change a gear box at 28.000 klm's nor to change the oil in the transmission. If it is an automatic check the oil level and check the colour (should be bright cherry red). IF the transmission is performing as expected then do nothing but reset the light or display. If it is a manual have a friend check the oil level in the gear box and if full ( level at threads for the fill plug) then reset the light or display.. IF you are still not confident then contact the manufacturer direct by the web Customer service and state your concerns and ask them for an accredited service centre that will look at your problems.

Error message "Steering Fault" : Renault Megane

  • This is a common fault with this vehicle. You have electric steering and it starts out not to bad and then becomes impossible to turn. It would be best to have yours refurnished as new ones are quite pricey.

  • Hope this helps.

My 1998 renault scenic megane bunny hops when cold in 1st and 2nd gear. once warmed up, it stops... any ideas?

Hmmmm......

Looks like ur tranny is overheating!

When does u change ur transmission fluid filter?

Better go to ur nearest garage to check that overheating, either ur lacking fluid or the filter is already blocked!

Hope that helps out!

Renault megan scenic 1.6 auto 1998 .start up drive ,does not change gear ,stop when warm restart drives ok ?

This sounds like you have a pressure fault, these gearboxes suffer from pressure solonoid failure, take the car to your dealer and have it scanned, this will show the fault, it is not an expensive job, but if left it can turn into one.

Light steering

See if you have a power steering pressure switch. Some cars have a variable orifice power steering switch that varies pressures based on speed and how fast you are turning. For example, in a parking lot (low speeds), power assist would be greatest whereas at higher speeds, it would be lowest. If you have a power steering pressure switch on the car, that could be ur problem.
