Question about 2005 Mazda 3
I have taken off the air thing connected to the battery case but couldn't find the air filter.
After you take off the battery cover, then you can lift the air scoop thing, then you pop the clip on the other cover that's there on the right of the air scoop and in front of the battery and yes - look for those 4 silver clips - that's how I did found mine. You pop those clips and CAREFULLY jiggle the lid while lifting - replace the filter being sure to seat it correctly into its spot - the clips should snap on EASILY - if you are gorcing it, you'll need to check to be sure you have properly seated the filter.

My 06 masda 3 the air filter is below the "air thing" its a tough spot. first you remove the "air thing" and the plastic connected to it and below that look for 4 metal clips , its under that.
