No warning buzzer that my lights are on

I got the car second hand with no owner's manual. I have left the lights on several times and the car has not sounded the warning buzzer. This is consistent. Other warning buzzers and electronic gadgets work fine. Could it be a fuze? If so, does anyone know which one I should check or replace (since I have no manual)? If not a fuze, what else do you recommend?

Wow - that was smart engineering by the Hyundai folks!!!! No wonder why I didn't see the headlights on when I left the car, the parking lights are much harder to notice. Thanks for your time to answer this question.

The 1999 elantra was not equipped with a warning buzzer for the headlights, if you leave them on.
the headlights will turn off if you shut the car off, but the parking and tail lamps will remain on

In my 2006 ford fusion 2.3L whenever I put my key in the ignition and turn it a weird solid ringing sound start and stops 5 seconds later hat could it be?

Not surprisingly, many others have experienced problems with the ignition switch on this car. Historically, it is not a sound, but that the key is stuck in the ignition. http://repairpal.com/key-will-not-come-out-of-ignition-570 Your problem sounds different, but it may be related. Although I do not recommend the fix in the link above, it is possible the previous owner of your car did perform this fix and it has resulted in the problem you now have. My better guess is that the chime/buzzer has failed due to moisture or dirt and is no longer producing the sound that it should, but instead is altered to the ringing you describe. To disable follow these instructions:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1
minute)
Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state.
(Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.)
After Step 3, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three
seconds.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt.
This will disable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
This will enable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the
light off, then followed by the safety belt warning light flashing 4 times
per second for 3 seconds again.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

How to disable seatbelt alarm on 2003 F-150?

There is a procedure in the owners manual on page 110.

BeltMinder activation and deactivation procedure
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT START THE ENGINE.)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1–2 minutes.)
• Steps 3–5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated.
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. This can be done before or during BeltMinder warning activation.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the parklamps/headlamps.
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled
• After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable BeltMinder if it is currently enabled, or enable BeltMinder if it is currently disabled.
7. Confirmation of disabling BeltMinder is provided by the safety belt warning light flashing four times per second for three seconds.
8. Confirmation of enabling BeltMinder is provided by:
• The safety belt warning light flashing four times per second for three seconds.
• Followed by three seconds with the safety belt warning light off.
• Once again, the safety belt warning light will flash four times per second for three seconds.
9. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

Light warning buzzer constantly on

Have you checked that the headlight switch is in the right position? Are the headlights or parking lights still on when the key is removed?

If so, then rotate the lamp switch to the correct position and the buzzer will go off. Headlights and parking lights are not controlled through the key circuits.

I have a 2000 passat. We changed the brakes and now the ABS warning light, buzzer and "service manual" keeps coming on the dash. Any ideas what it might be?? Thanks

To stop the service interval warning and sound coming on please follow the following steps.
1. insert key into ignition. 2. using right hand press and hold the odometer reset stalk. 3 using your left hand turn on the ignition ( dont start the Car) 4 now use your left hand to press the clock adjust stalk and turnit to the left. ( just advance the time by 1 minute) 5 release both stalks and then turn ignition off , then on again and your service warnig light and sound will now not appear for the next 5000 miles. ( repeat the above when it comes on again) This will also save you £30.00 for the garage to do it.
