Question about Chevrolet Chevy
Need to replace the power steering gear box in my 1971 Chevy C10 but not sure how to take the old one off
In general terms, its fairly easy.
You need to disconnect the pitman arm, the steering coupler to the column, the ps hoses, and unbolt it from the frame.
The tricky part is getting the steering wheel and pitman arm aligned so the steering wheel is centered when you put it back together.
Some are notched so you have to put it back one way, some are not.

U will need a power booster, a power brake master cylinder and a proportioning valve, u will need a good tubing bender to make up a few brake lines to the proportioing valve from the master cylinder. on a scale of 1-10 this is a 7, 10 is mot difficult.
