How far to the right do you turn the wheel? if you are turning it all the way and you hear the clicking noise it could vwry well be the CV joints. When you say that it feels as if something is catching, what are you feeling in the van?

Yes this is the CV ( Constant velocity Joint) you will need to replace it as soon as you can, it will not fall off you will be ok to use for a few hundred miles.
hope this helps

My 04 avalanche makes a clinking noise In front underneath when I hit a bump?

dose it speed up and down when you drivings, it could be you have caught the splash guard onto the brake disc and its catching, if its the wheel baring you need to jack up the side with the wheel still on and turn wheel round check for the sound if now sound, grab wheel at 9 to 3 and shack the wheel feeling for movement should be just a tiny bit with no sound. then do the same at 12 and six if there is a lot of movement the bearing will need replacing same if it makes a clunking sound.

What cause my 1999 land rover to turn over but wont start?

Sounds to me like the fuel pump. Located inside the fuel tank it can be difficult to verify without a second person or an extremely quiet workspace. First eliminate the basics. Verify that fuel is or isn't reaching the engine. Do this by locating the Schrader valve on the top of the engine. Battery side, aluminum tube on top of engine, the fuel injection pressure release valve looks exactly like air fill valve on your tire. Protect eyes, place a rag underneath the valve to catch any expelled fuel. With a small nail or valve tool press the needle to relaese pressure. If nothing shoots out or no more than a dribble is expelled, this is consistent with bad pump. Next check for the sound of pump running. This is where a second person come in. Have your helper sit in the drivers seat with the keys. Then move to the passenger side rear, fold up right side of rear seat exposing the carpet underneath. When in position, with all quiet, have helper turn key to second position doing so with driver door closed to eliminatebells and whistles. When the key arrives at position 2 this engages the fuel pump relay and fuel pump for 3-5 seconds. When the pump relay ceases to send power to pump after 3-5 seconds you will hhear one last beep from the message center. Repeat steps to confirm that pump is operating or not. You will hear the pump humming from the floorboards for the 3 second relay interval. If you hear nothing coming from the tank, which is directly under right rear passenger seat this would be the second confirmation of a failed pump. Assuming you have ample gas in the tank to prime pump (in the event it had run dry) five gallons, check your inertia cutoff switch for proper operaation and that it is not tripped. This switch is behind the right hand kick panel under glove box at right of front passengers feet. Remove panel and be. Sure that the red rubber switch is depressed. If this is pushed all the way down then the switch is engaged. Making this third confirmation symptom of bad pump.
The pump through the dealer is expensive, but if you are on a budget and have some mechanic skills, the $1500 pump can be repaired by simply replacing the $160 electric motor.
Feel free to repost additional info or questions. I will do my best to answer them. Good luck!

How do you replace fuel filter on a '97 Caravan?

Hi, i just replaced the Fuel Filter on my 1990 Dodge Grand Caravan LE. The fuel filter was located on the passenger side, underneath the front passenger seat. If you go straight down from the front passenger door handle, its almost directly under it. You will have to get UNDER the van to see it, as it is mounted on the INSIDE of the chassis rail. It took one bolt to remove from the chassis, and two hose clamps to remove. BEWARE: it is a pressurized (lightly) fuel line. Wear some goggles, gloves, and have something to catch the fuel that will inevitably spill out. The filter itself was $12 at my local parts store.

I also have a 1994 Plymouth Voyager, which is almost identical to the Caravan, and the fuel filter is located in the exact same position.

Take care

My daughter has a 2000 Dodge Caravan 3.8..Its got no pressure in the fuel rail..First i replaced the fuel filter,,Then put in used pump..still nothing..So i returned it and got another pump.Still no...

When you turn on the ignition to start vehicle can you hear a buzzing sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. That sound is the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel system. If you do not hear that noise then the pump is not working. Check fuel pump connection for power, if no power check fuse, relay and ground

Clicking, sticking sound from front end, drivers side

It is your cv joint that is bad. If you jack the van up on that side, check to see if the boot is ripped...and more than likely your cv joint is about shot...even if the boot is intact.

The cv joint is bad....

Driver front side wheel

Sounds like you have a failing wheel bearing. Once you start hearing it, does it get louder or more high pitched the faster you go? Do you hear it get quieter when you turn left at speed, or louder when you go right at speed? If any of those are a yes, I'd have the wheel bearing inspected and replaced if necessary.
