The speed sensor for the transmission is on the side of the transmission where the speedo cable used to go.

Location of speed sensor for 1999 acura tl


On the 99 there are two speed sensors. The mainshaft and the countershaft. The mainshaft is on the front, countershaft is on top. They're black plastic parts with connectors on them.

99 acura drives slow w/ no tranny shift & no speed-o-meter

99TL-Location of Speed Sensor?


Transmission Speed Sensor, A/T Looks as though While Looking at Engine with 2 Throttle Cables Under your Chin for Lack of better discription, The trans Sensor is to the LEFT Of The 2 Cables. Problem Is I Have Pictures But No Succes sendinf through FixYa Email Works Fine Obviously so if you Want me to Send em My Email Address in My Nickname here at aol.com @ you get it Im Sure.

Car completely shuts off going any speed


I ended up driving to spokane acura and having the ignition switch replaced.
