I dont think it's a break pedal it's probley pads or rear shoes, there are mmetal sencers that rub on the rotor when the pads get thin thats probley what your hearing check your brakes.

Why does my 1991 subaru squeaks then cuts out for a sec.

If it's happening while driving and no brakes applied it's probably a belt causing the noise. There's a product available in most local auto shops that you can use to lubricate the belt. I think the actual name is "stop squeak" but I'm not positive.
If it's squeaking while breaking you may need new breaks or your breaks may be too tight. Another product exists for breaking squeals available in your local auto shop

Squeak front wheel

depends on what type of pads are in if they are a hard pad they will squeak some times it depends on the weather if its damp a softer set of pads will stop from squeaking you could also try cleaning the rust away from the outer edge take wheel off then by hand turn disk use a spoon or a blunt pice of metal to scrape off the rust normally solves the problem also can try putting copper grease on the back of the pad so when you take your foot of the break pedal the grease sort of sucks the pad off the disk hope this makes sence chears ivan

Break pedal squeaking

is the squeak inside the car? if so, then yes it's probably the pedal or linkage. If it's outside the car, then either the brakes were done poorly or the pads are defective. Assuming you had the front and rear brakes done. Could be the other brakes if only 1 axle was serviced.

My 2004 taurus w/ 3.0 had a squeak in the front of engine.... Shop replaced CPS yesterday and I drove it home. This morning the engine would rev to 4k rpm regardless of throttle input...I could only stop...

With the car off, take a look at the throttle linkage at the engine. Have someone push the gas pedal and make sure the linkage has full range of movement. It might be stuck in place, thus causing your engine to stay at the same rev. I'm also at a loss how a CPS can make an engine squeak. You might want to pose this question to your mechanic.

Brakes squeak

If you put the lifetime pads they are much harder and although you will get extended life the pads have a tendency to squeak try getting in a empty parking lot and put a little pressure on the brake pedal while backing up a few times it sometimes helps but is only temp, I prefer the non lifetime pads for this reason

I have 67k miles on my hhr and he brakes squeak when i take my foot off the break pedal. what maintenance should be done at this point

I'd guess it's the warning squealer, letting you know you'll be needing new pads soon. Have them looked at.

My 2005 ford escape has a terrible squeek coming from under the gas pedal. It becomes worse as I accelerate. I can't find any type of linkage to lube.

there is nothing under the floor of the pedal will make that terrible squeak sound. have your belt check make sure they are tight and not slipping, it will also make that loud squeak sound if it slips. go to auto parts store and purchase a can of WD40 and spray it on all the pulley under the hood. have the engine off while spraying the pulleys. don't worry if it get on other parts of the engine. Common problems with pulleys squeaking on many vehicle.

My 2004 chevy tahoe makes a squeaking noise while driving and now there's brake dust forming on the rims.

If the squeeking is happening over bumps, and is not related to breaking, it could be a bearing in the steering linkage. My tahoe is doing the same thing, and my local garage says it is only a dealer fix. That is why I am searching this site now, is to find out if anyone else is complaining about this. I was told that GM is fully aware of this problem.
