SOURCE: where is the crank sensor located on a 99 jeep cherokee

Your crank sensor is located between the engine and the trans. From the pass. side. look behind the engine and you'll find a wiring harness that goes to a sensor that is installed in the bell housing A 10mm bolt holds it in place. If you're replacing the sensor, make sure you look at the wiring harness that goes to it. The harness likes to come apart.

SOURCE: 1999 jeep grand cherokee lorado....4.7 L location

The crank shaft position sensor is located on the upper left side of bell housing (i.e the drivers side). It has two wires and held in position by means of two 7/16 bolts. You can remove those bolts to replace it.It is very difficult to get to it without getting a lift.
While re installing a new one make sure the wires does not touch the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipes because the wire can melt down due to heat.

How do i replace the crank position sensor on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee

If you have the type of crank angle sensor shown in the image, then it will be located on the bell-housing towards the top of the bell-housing and usually on the drivers side. Dis-connect the faulty crank angle sensor and then un-bolt the two bolts that secure the crank angle sensor to the bell-housing and then remove the sensor. The best access to the crank angle sensor is from under the vehicle.
