Driver door beeps when open and key is out of ignition. What would cause this and what can I do to correct this?

The problem is in the ignition switch where the key goes there is a sensor that senses key in ignition that breaks and grounds itself causing constant annoying beeping

Have beeping noise can I unplug something to fix the problem 2002 kia Sedona

Beeping noise is the car alarm system for door open, key in the hole and the engine is off, parking lights are on and the door is open.

If the beeping sound can be heard while the doors are all closed properly, no lights are on, the key is not in the ignition switch, then one of these systems (doors, lights, accessories) are grounded.

You have to eliminate the cause one by one starting with the door switches which is the most likely cause, followed by the key in the switch sensor found at the base of the ignition switch (you have to open the steering wheel cover to check) and then lastly check that no lights are on when you close the door.

the alarm emitter is found at the end of the console box right below the car radio system.

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 2000 ford focus

There is a hole in the plastic column cover on the bottom. This is the access to a spring loaded pin which keeps your keyswitch in the ignition hole. You may have a worn out key tumbler or the tumbler is loose in the housing and simply needs to be removed and reinserted to work again.

A drill bit or thin hex wrench needs to be poked into that mentioned bottom hole to release the tumbler from the housing with a gentle pull.

The door ajar beeping comes on anytime a door is open, whether or not a key is in the ignition.

The light and the beeping are two differant things. Headlight switch on? Or the switch were the key gos may think the key is still in the switch.

programming of remote :- ( you will need all your remotes for this )
insert a programmed key into the ignition.
turn key to position 2 & back four times within 6 second.
when you turn the ignition off after the fourth turn you should hear a beep to tell you your in programming mode for the next 10 seconds.
press any button on your new remote ( a tone will be heard when the car accepts the button press ) now do the same with your old remotes too.
either switch the ignition back on or wait until the timer runs out on the programming mode & your done
