You might have a bad intake gasket. It could be leaking down the back of the motor looking like it is between the engine and trans.Take number 6 plug out and smell it to see if it smells like coolant. If so than chances are your intake gasket is leaking. Hope this helps, leave comment.

#7 cyl mis-fire changed #6 coil with #7 coil still #7 cyl mis-fire told that head needs to be replaced at a cost of $4000.00 dollars i have a bad stickey there any gas additive product that will...

it will do no harm at all to use redexe/wynns injector cleaner at the rate of 1 can to 5 gallons of may get an improvement.also try an engine oil additive for "flushing"before a full oil change.
(as i live in England i dont know the makers names for your additives) if you do an oil change use 5/30 full synthetic to renew so that it goes around the oilways quicker than a "thick" a "by the way"i have NEVER changed the head for "STICKY " valve as i dont believe there is such a thing.....unless the valve has been replaced with a wrong size stem...........

Coming up the mountain from sea level to a higher altitude, my 5 gear 1997 chevy s10 truck, four cyl., slows down uphill and makes some explosions like it is *******. Once up the mountain, it runs fine...

In going up a steep grade, cylinder pressure rises and can cause a spark mis-fire if the plugs, wires, cap or coil aren't in really good condition. I'd check those items first. It could also be a problem with your map sensor but I doubt it. (always test before replacing anything).

Cannot figure out the firing order for my 1991 isuzu rodeo

Facing towards front of engine-number 1 is on passenger side front cyl of engine. Number 2 is front cyl on driver's side-number 3 middle cyl on passenger side-4 on middle cyl driver's side-5 on back cyl passenger side and 6 on back cyl driver's side. The distributer rotates COUNTER CLOCKWISE-number 1 cyl's sparkplug wire attaches to distributer cap connection closest to number 5 cyl.-to your right side of this plug wire on cap would go cyl number 2-then 3-then 4-then 5 and then 6. The firing order is:1,2,3,4,5,6

Hi my dodge dakota 2001 is mis firering on cylinders 1 and 5 please help.

If you have done a tune up recently you need to make sure that the spark plug wires are firmly attach. You may need to crimp the ends of the wire lightly to make a better connection. Even if you have not had a tune up lately this is still a good place to start. After that check your power pack or cap and rotter depending on witch on you have. You can take these in to you local part house and they should test them for you.

I have a ford f150 that is mis firing on number

The most coomon thing is a coil. You cant really test without a scanner or way to test coil output. But you should replace the spark plugs and the #3 Ignition coil. Use MOTORCRAFT PLATINUM Spark Plugs only. Number 3 is the 3rd back on the Passenger side. Be sure there is no water/coolant on the spark plug well, if there is coolant, one of the heater hoses may be leaking. Take coils out, using a 7mm socket, be sure to blow out the spark plug hole with compressed air before removing the spark plug. Take the rubber boot off each coil and place some "silicone dielectric grease" in th ecavity for the coil end to keep out moisture. Cyls 1 2 3 4 on pass side, 5 6 7 8 on drivers side. After you are done, remove the positive battery cable for a few minutes to clear the memory and long term fuel trims.

I had my mechanic around on saturday for a service he changed plugs/leeds and a pressure test on no. 5 was a little low, he reccomends a new engine, head gasket was fine is there any way of treating this...

No way to bring the pressure up in a cylinder without treating that cylinder; rebore, honing and new piston/rings. I have to ask how the engine is runing? If it has just a bit of a miss or slight loss of power, does it need to be rebuilt or can it operate, to your needs, as is?
Best regards,
