it is the fan knob but the rear heat still works so im thinking maybe something with the knob itself....is it an easy fix or should i go to a garage?

If you pull the knob off, you can look at the backside of it. These always break where the metal clip is inserted. Your local GM dealer will have a replacement knob. You might be able to get one from a local parts store too, but not all them have it available yet.

Also; The switch itself can go bad. If the knob looks ok, then it could be the switch and at that point I would take it to your mechanic.

Does the 2002 Dodge caravan have AC in the rear of the van? Or does it have just AC vents in the front of the Van.

If your van has rear AC/Heat there is a roof mounted control for the rear. There is also a control knob on the front panel, that says rear control auto, rear control & rear control off.

Frontend shakes when braking, sometimes - have

The actual disc rotors have warped with heat (eg, driving with foot lightly on brake pedal). Easy fix, take it to a brake shop and get them to true the rotors. In New Zealand, we have guys that come to you to do it but essentially, they use a lathe and trim disc provided it doesn't go below manufacturers specs for thickness.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

No air flow through the rear vents with ac or heat on high

make sure the control knob on the dash is on "RR". This lets the driver control all the vents in the back. The heat only comes out of the floor vents, if you have the knob on the blue dots that represents the air conditioning in which the cool air will come out of the vents up above in the back. There is also an area on the control knob on the dash where you can turn the knob to shut the heat and air conditioning off. If the knob is in this position then you can control everything with the knob up above the seat right behind the driver's seat.
