Scrapyard i would imagine but its not old that a new one from a ford dealer wouldnt be available ,so instead of browsing the internet walk to the dealer with the chassis number and iam sure they will oblige ,Scrapped one of these last year owing to problem with a corroded chassis number ,imported UK reg vehicle and put on spanish plates but teh chassis number on the floor had the last number corroded away so it failed the inspection .The effort of getting it re stamped was more than the car was worth as it was a rust box with duff canvas roof

The marker lights and the dash lights will not work unless I jump the wires at switch . Replaced both switches and relay under the hood. This happend after I pulled a trailer . This is in a 1993 Chevy...

Most likely the Trailer connector you have wired in is connected improperly or grounding a wire it shouldn't. Take taht Trailer Wire Connection out and that should resolve the issue unless it has shorted out the new switches or the relay.

Battery wont hold a charge i have cab lights and head lights but no bed lights my brake lights and turn signals work i have LED's on my flat bed

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have the battery charged. It can be an indication of a weak battery or a faulty alternator. If the battery light still on after charging then the problem will surely be on the alternator itself. If that's the case the alternator should be replaced to resolve the problem.

You may try to reset it to by removing the positive battery connector, letting it sit for at least 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and can get the battery light off.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

1993 chevy suburban shuts of when i press the brakes or turn on lights. the weather has been below zero.

Your alternator needs to "load tested" for output. It sounds like it needs to be replaced because of a burnt diode inside. It could also be a loose belt letting it slip. You should also check the power level in the battery. It is probably low but should only need to be charged up. The colder it gets the less power a battery will put out. Hope this helps.

1993 dodge dakota 4*4 codes are in order as

12= Standby memory power lost
27= PCM to injector failure
15 = No VSS reference
55 = Completion of fault code display

With the given codes and the way it is running I would say that you are having either a issue with the PCM ground and or the main connector to the PCM. Intermittent failure in the plug would cause these cascade codes with a misfire.

I would inspect the plug and make sure there is a good verifiable ground from the cab to the frame even to the transmission itself. The cabs of these trucks have notoriously bad grounding. Best to establish a new one rather than chase the old one and assume it is ok. Small gauge wire with terminals will suffice.

You may also be noticing that the volt and temp gauges go up and down slightly with the turn signal when it is activated? Radio may also freak out at louder volume settings if the ground in the cab is compromised.

1993 xr3i intermittant starting

could be a weak startmotor, the bushes wear out over time and it will need replacing. if its turning over slowly it could be this, other is the battery has last its amprig as the starter motor does need a lot of amps. and other is the connection from the battery to the starter there is not good contact.
