You will need a 5.5mm socket. first remove the six bolts holding on the coil packs. then pull the coil packs off. remember the order they were in. next loosen the bolt that connects the wires to the module. the module should lift right up. replace and put back accordingly.

I have a 2007 cadillac cts with a no crank no start problem. The TC light is on as well as the theft protection light and the check engine light, but it will not say anything. What could be the pro?


It won't talk to you ? explain that . Is the battery an cable connections good ? Do the headlamps shine bright ? Does the theft light flash when trying to start the vehicle ? The body control system consists of the following 2 modules:

Each of the 2 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems. Each module is connected to the class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control signals are implemented by class 2 messages.
Dash Integration Module (DIM)
The various dash integration module (DIM) input and output circuits are described in the corresponding functional areas as indicated on the DIM electrical schematics.
The DIM functions include the following:

The cigar lighter relay control

The class 2 communication requiring DIM interaction

The exterior lighting control


?€¢
The headlamp washer control

The hood ajar switch input w/export

Serial Data Messages The modules that depend exclusively on serial data messages for power modes stay in the state dictated by the last valid PMM message until they can check for the engine run flag status on the serial data circuits. If the PMM fails, the modules monitor the serial data circuit for the engine run flag serial data. If the engine run flag serial data is True, indicating that the engine is running, the modules fail-safe to RUN. In this state the modules and their subsystems can support all operator requirements. If the engine run flag serial data is False, indicating that the engine is not running, the modules fail-safe to OFF-AWAKE. In this state, the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle.
Discrete Ignition Signals Those modules that have discrete ignition signal inputs also remain in the state dictated by the last valid PMM message received on the serial data circuits. They then check the state of their discrete ignition input to determine the current valid state. If the discrete ignition input is active, battery positive voltage, the modules will fail-safe to the RUN power mode. If the discrete ignition input is not active, open, or 0 voltage, the modules will fail-safe to OFF-AWAKE. In this state the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle.
I'd say your best bet is take your vehicle to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

Where is the ignition control module located on 4 Ford Taurus 3.8 engine a how do I replace it


Hi Tracie , there is no ignition control module . The PCM controls the coils . You would need to check the red wire going to the coil pack for battery voltage . The other three wires come from the PCM - powertrain control module . With a test light hooked up to battery positive ,touch the other end of the test light to those other three wires one at a time while cranking over the engine . If the test light flickers the PCM is doing what it should be doing . Now if the test light does not flicker you more then likely have a bad crankshaft position sensor. Now would you like to elaborate a little bit on the problem your having ? No start ? no spark at the spark plugs etc..

What make , model an year vehicle ? Is it coil on plug ignition system or dis ignition . Did you test for battery voltage at the coil or coils ? 2005 saturn ion 3 trouble code P0300


A P0300 code indicates random, multiple misfires were detected. You eliminated the possibility of ignition system faults by replacing the ignition module, the coils, and the spark plugs (unless the replacement part(s) were no good). However you did not mention the ignition wires which are another probable cause. In addition, there could be vacuum leaks due to damaged hoses or improper routing. Consider also fuel contamination or a problem with the fuel system.

P0352 code came up what might be the problem


P0352 - Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
The ignition signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns ON and OFF the ignition coil primary circuit. This ON/OFF operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

When is the code detected?
The test fails when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) does not receive a valid pulse signal from the ignition coil.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation

Possible causes
- Open or short in the ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil circuit shorted to ground
- Ignition coil connector
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged PCM or

Possible solution
- If damage, repair ignition coil circuit
- Replaced ignition coil
- Replaced PCM or ECM

Trouble code P0320 ignition/dist. engine speed input circuit


P0320 - Ignition / distributor engine speed circuit malfunction

The ignition engine speed sensor input signal to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) is continuously monitored. The test fails when the signal indicates that 2 successive erratic profile ignition pickup (PIP) pulses occurred.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- The engine may stumble or stall

When is the code detected?
The P0320 code is triggered when 2 successive erratic PIP pulses are detected.

Possible Causes:
- Loose wires/connectors
- Faulty Crank Position Sensors
- Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, wires and plugs)
- Low battery charge
- Powertrain Control Module

Possible Solutions:
- Resecure loose wire or connectors
- If battery charge is low, recharge or replaced battery
- Replaced crank position sensor
- Replaced starter motor

How do you install a ignition control module in a 1999 Intrigue?


It should be on the front of the engine right by the coil. The coil is the thing which has 1 fat wire going to the distributor. Look at where the wires are that go into the coil, they will lead to the ignition.

Rough idle and/or stalls while at stop light. Check engine light comes on.


the ignition coil and or the ignition control module is out. you can pull the plug wire to find out wich cylinder it is. Then replace the proper coil. most parts stores can test the module.
