SOURCE: ignition switch repair
The switch is on top of the steering column just behind the lower dash panel. Undo lower panel remove the steering column bolts upper and lower. Drop column and you will see it. The lock cylinder is a whole other story that will require special tools. Especially with a tilt and telescopic column.

you wont?? without the key you will not be able to remove the barrell.their are two headless bolts that shear off when its fitted ,if you can behind them and tap them around to slacken them with a centre punch then your lucky ??other than that remove the steering column and cut it off ,i take it the lock has jammed up ?? and will not turn .

Your famililer with this job or can have someone thats done it before show you as the security system is involved and mistakes will make the car never start again, without real intervention. A professioanl locksmith will save you lots of money by just not failing the first time. The lock cylinder has a key reader that electronally (reads) the key and if your key is missing a dealer or well equiped locksmith with reprogramming experience, is required. May dealers call in a locksmith or a roving mechanic that performs this function as it's a highly specialized proceture.

Hello: Carefully take a 1/4 inch flat bladed 6in. screwdriver and gently go under the switch plate (you might put a shop rag on top of the door panel under the screw driver to keep from damaging the panel, push in and pry up at the same time and the switch plate should pop up in the front then pull straight up and it should come up.
