How to install passenger side view mirror Ford

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Replace pwer mirror driver side 2002 ford explorer

remove the door panel with out breaking the hook style plastic clips by un doing any phillip screws holding the doors pull handle, and maybe a couple of lower retainer screws, remove the power window and power lock switchs from the doors handle than pull lightly on the bottom of the door panel . if it feels loose it should pull out about 2 inches.than slide the whole door panel straight up and off the door it self. now you can unclip the power mirror wire connector and remove the mirror itself from the upper corner of the door
good luck chris

My power window came off track

There are 2 screws just above the door handle you need to remove. Remove the plastic trim around door handle. Then starting at bottom of door panel pull out to disengage the push pin clips and work your way up both sides of panel. Then lift up on door panel to disengage the weatherstip on top of panel.

You did not mention whether it was a front or rear door? I assume its a front because u stated no screws.

Here are instructions for front door:

Remove the plastic trim from behind mirror(just snaps on).
Remove the window switch panel(just snaps on).
Remove the screw behind the mirror cover.
Remove the screw behind the window switch panel.
Remove the courtesy lamp lens.
Remove the screw in the courtesy lamp housing.
Remove the inside door handle trim cover.
Remove the inside door handle bolt.

I need to replace passenger side mirror on 97 ford expedition

Both above answers are not right... I just replaced the Pass side power mirror assembly on my 97 Expedition. No heat, no directional.
The inside door panel must come off.
1. pry off interior triangular plastic trim piece inside of door at mirror area. Remove door panel screw at this area.
2. Pry off power window switch panel and remove door panel screw at this area.
3.Remove interior door light cover and remove screw at this area.
4. Remove plastic cover at door handle.
5. The interior door panel can now be lifted up to release it from it's fasteners.
6. Disconnect light and push power window switch assembly through the door panel and it can be set aside.
7. Disconnect mirror power at coupler.
8 Loosen three mirror mounting screws with 7/16 socket. DO NOT unscrew completely.. the will fall down the door cavity. Use a round magnet on holder to remove the screws completely.
9.Thread electrical connection into door panel and install mirror.
10. Smile when mirror works and drink a beer!

1999 ford expedition with a passenger, front window stuck in the down possition

Hi,

Initially, try to determine which fuse goes to the power window. Check and replace if necessary.

In brief for a temporary remedy just to have the window closed: remove the triangular cover at the top front of the door behind the mirror, there should be a screw there; remove the trim around the door handle another screw, remove the cover of the courtesy light at the bottom of the door, there is another screw behind that; soon as all the screws are out, lift/push up on the door panel and pull off. This would grant you access to the mechanism controlling the window. You can try closing by manually turning the motor.

Thereafter, pls determine if it is the motor or the switch(es) has failed. Replacements are available here.

Incidentally, here is a nice tutorial on repairs of power windows in general.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
