Question about 1995 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

'94 Camry. When I crank the ignition, the 30amp fuse under the hood burns and no power goes to the distributor (I replaced the coil, cables, plugs, rotor, etc., already). Another post assumed there is a short somewhere on their '95 Camry. What's the next step?

is this the fuel injection fuse? if so u most likely have a wire on the engine electrical harness that has rubbed through and is shorted to the engine, time and a good set of eyes is what u need.

Hello
Disconnect the fuel pump
then see if you still blow the 30 amp fuse many times when the fuel pump goes bad this will blow the 30 amp pdc fuse

2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 wont start. it will turn over but will not crank. we have replaced the coil and the crank sensor and it will still not work. Is also not the timing belt or the fuel pump. any ideas...

are you getting any spark from the coil and not to the plugs? if so replace the rotor button in the distributor cap, possibly has a hole burned in it. if no fire from the coil check to see if the coil is being triggered on the ground side and power to the coil on the positive. if no power check the ASD relay if no ground pulse then check the circuit from the computer. also may want to check the camshaft sensor in the distibutor.

Igot a 93 ford F-150 Ecoline van that wont start tried jumping fuel spark plugs can you help

If the motor is not cranking at all, try jumping it after disconnecting the positive battery cable from the battery. If it cranks the problem is a bad battery. If it is cranking check the ignition relay and fuses in the fuse panel and power distribution box under the hood. If all fuses are good, and I believe that vehicle has a coil pack instead of Distributor so you'll have to do this the hard way, check to see if the valves are working in sequence when the motor cranks over. You will have to pull a valve cover to watch the valve operation while you crank the motor. if it does by chance have a Distributor, you can pull the distributor cap and watch to see if that is spinning as the motor cranks to make sure the timing chain or belt has not broken.

Ran ok till i changed distributor, cap, crank sensor now it will not start codes up as safty shutdown, fuel pump relay circuit and ignition/distributer engine speed input circuit can anyone tell me whats the...

It is the Auto Shutdown Relay located in the power distribution center under the hood, the black box with all the fuses and relays. Replace the relay, and check all the 30amp and 50 amp fuses. You might try removing the relay and reinstalling it first, to see if it will reset.

94 toyota camery 4 cyl wont start Ichecked the fuel injectors there ok checked fuel pump works fine replace distributor cap and the ignitor but I dont get a spark at the sparkplugs.henrys

check all efi and ign fuses first...then check pickup coil and ignition coil in distributor w/ ohm meter...since you already replace the ignitor, then mostly likely it's the pickup coil or ignition coil...buy the whole

Yes. First, in the fuse block under the hood check INJ A fuse and INJ B fuse. INJ A fuse is circuit 1039 which feeds the coil. If the fuse is OK, replace the coil electrical connector. I stock 2 of these at my dealership because they are needed quite often.
FYI P1351 is an ignition coil control circuit DTC.

No spark, 1988 Toyota Camry 3SFE 4cyl, 5 speed.

there is no crank sensor on this vehicles 2.0L. If you have power to the coil, new coil, cap and rotor try this if not done yet>>>Unplug coil power first....Try pulling off the distributor cap, and make sure the rotor is spinning with the cam...If this fails to spin, inspect the entire distributor assembly. If it passes, Inspect all the power circuit and wiring to the dist assembly, if ok possible ecu. i recommend having a mechanic check it out!! Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

Check the main fuses under the hood. My 95 is doing the same thing and there is a 30amp fuse under the hood that stops the distributor from getting power. The fuse blows whenever I turn the key to the acc. position, so I have to find where the short is and then repair.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

I had the same problem recently but replacing the ignition Coil under the distributor (inside) solved the problem. Also replaced the distributor Cap and rotor at the same time.
