SOURCE: 2005 Pontiac SV6 Montana key fob unlocks doors but will not lock

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.

SOURCE: 2003 Pontiac Montana Front Wheel Bearings

Remove the wheel, remove the hub nut, remove the brake caliper and rotor, put your socket and extension through the hub flange onto the bearing retainer bolts, undo them, release the abs sensor connector if it has it, remove the bearing and hub flange as an assembly, put the new one on and go backwards from here. Torque the hub nut to 180 ft/lbs, your done.

How to get the battery out

The battery in the 2003 Pontiac Montana is located in the engine compartment on the passenger's side just behind the headlight assembly. Changing the battery can be a little challenging because the Pontiac saw fit to bury it below several other parts in the van. The under-hood fuse box sits directly above the battery and a cross brace runs over the top of it as well. Dealing with both items is not complicated but does add time to the process. My 2002 pontiac montana security and battery light flashing and now it wont start

you could have a bad alternator not keeping the system at the appropriate level of charge. Or check the battery, replace with other known battery that is good and see if this fixes the problem. Clean all battery terminals. Dead shorts in battery can really create problems and sometimes can load test good but on the low side. Try the battery swap first if you have access to one

My 1999 Pontiac Montana starts fine, and then sometimes dies

The starting /keep running issue is probably a slow IAC (idle air control)Next time turn the key on,wait 3 or 4 seconds then start,if it keeps running after that wait time everytime,it most likely is the IAC,,,,,,no big deal.
How long does the van sit when it has a dead battery?

I need to jump start our second vehicle using the Montana van. I can't find the negative battery terminal to connect to.

Typically next to the battery, there will be a terminal looking plug on the shock mount. That is where you will attach the negative for jump starting the vehicle. Basically, you just need to ground out the wire somewhere, so when they built the van, they included a perfect ground.
