Question about 1985 Ford F150

1 Answer

My '85 F150 is stalling out in neutral... please help!

I've got a 1985 Ford F150, 2WD with a 302. It's running great, but recently has started to stall out on me. It's always at slow speeds, like when I'm slowing down to stop or make a sharp turn, and have it in neutral. Is it idling too low? Does it need new sparkplugs? I'm not great with auto mechanics, but just wondering if there is an easy fix I can do myself and save the money of paying a mechanic???

Try exactly what you said first then try replacing the distributor cap and plug wires just make sure you put the in the right firing order

Have you changed grades of gas? I had an old dodge that would only idle on the 89 octane and not on 91 or 93

Got a 85 ford f150 has a 302 holly carb. was running fine ran low on gas and now cuts out wont back out of drive way idles fine but hit the gas and it stalls

strip and clean out the carb,or quick fix ,rev engine with air filter off and then hold hand over intake this may or may not not cure it .because when hand is held over carb and stops air the suction will draw any muck through the jets
