The tiny little lights that are hard wired to the radio circuit board are burnt out. You will need to have the radio removed and the bulbs replaced. The bulb number from Radio Shack is #7219 and it takes 2 in most radios I have seen. You must have the proper tools and skills to do the replacement or you can ruin the circuit board.

Radio shack no longer stocks the bulb#7219 and there are 10 not 2 bulbs in the radio...you can get the bulbs and instruction on how to install them at audioxpress.com you only have to know how to solder them in...
