I'm pretty sure the main computer controls spark timing, so you probably have the computer and the distributor which includes the coil.

My 2000 Nissan Pathfinder just stopped abruptly after losing power/current. The engine did not start after several attempts. The distributor does not produce current when ignition is done. Please help me...

Could be many things but start by having it coded by a diagnostics monitor. Sounds like your ECM (electronics control module) or the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) may be faulty. good luck :)

98 pathfinder has intermittent spark issue. start and drive for an hour+-, quits, at slow speed -25mph. sits for 30 min, then restarts and drive.replaced ignition coil, no help. waiting on ignition control...

Was there only one ignition coil to be replaced or did you replace all of them? How do you know its due to intermittent spark and not a fuel delivery issue? The ignition control module is a good next step if you have changed all of the coils and confirmed it is not a fuel issue.

Finding where the remote box is located i have wire that should be for the remote start but can;t find where the box is

Remote starter modules are typically tied up high under the driver side dash area. Look for a cluster of wires coming from ignition switch harness. Follow the wires that are tapped into this harness to find the module.
