Have a 94 Chevy K1500 4wd and the high beams and winshield wipers quit working. Is this a problem with the multifunction switch or 2 different problems?

SOURCE: 1999 chevy cavalier no low beam light

your in for a real treat.... i had a similar problem with mine, the stock gm wiring is terrible, your best bet pull the wiring apart in the front of the car and inspect each wire splice they tend to corrode and once it gets to a certain point it wont allow any electricity to pass, i ended up rewiring the entire headlight system myself. you can get the wiring diagram from the haynes manual. good luck

SOURCE: chevy S/10 headlights

headlights are on a circuit breaker--not a fuse. so if you have a high amp draw situation--the breaker will get hot and turn the lights out then cool off and reconnect(a safety feature so you may have headlights a least part of the time). You need to look for reasons for a high draw. bad headlights themselves are the most popular cause as well as corroded connecters. Hope I helped

SOURCE: what is the 94 Chevy Caprice Classic wiper arm

heres a wiper linkage asm diagram, the wiper washers are on the hood or on the cover to deck, then the hose runs through the wiper arm to a nozzle, if you remove the arms you can lift cover enough to look at the hose to washer connection, also check hose to arm they often break there good luck.2d8c418.gif

Why are my wipers going constantly and why doesn't any air blow out of my vents on my 2005 Chevy Impala?

I think you have two things going on, your multifunction switch which runs our wipers and your blinkers and high beam, is bad. for your Heat not working , i'm pretty sure that is not tied into the wiper system, does you fan turn on at all in any speeds low high only ?

My low beams don't work, but the high beams do. changed the light bulbs and headlight switch.

the multifunction switch that controls the wiper /turn signals, and high/low beam lights are very common for (when they get a lot of miles on them) for having problems.also I have seen a good number of these pickups that the connector (that plugs into the back of the multifunction switch)had lost the ability to properly hold the wire terminals into the connector causing a poor connection between the switch and the wiring. sometimes this can be verified without removing the column shrouds by (if equipped) tilting the tilt wheel up and down and see if the lights start working . hope this helps, thanks for using fixya

Turn signals quit working??

Good place to start is to check bulbs. Also, have multifunction switch and its circuits tested. The multifunction switch is the blinker arm, and the components it attaches to inside the steering column. Usually tied in with things like high beams, headlight dimmer/daytime running lights, wipers, cruise, etc.

Low beams quit, high beams ok.

You have a separate fuse for the high beams and the low beams. Fuses are located in panel in driver's side of dash concealed when door is closed, or in the power distribution box under the hood on the driver's side. You have separate lamps for each (not likely since they both went out together).
The worst thing it could be, and it is very expensive for parts/labor (and you don't want to tackle this one yourself unless you are a good mechanic) is the column-mounted dimmer/cruise/wiper/washer/turn signal switch. The part alone is almost 200 bucks, and installing it requires dismantling the steering column inside the SUV.
Hope it's not that.

My 1998 chevy 4x4 brake lights work fine with the key off but when you turn the ignition on the brake lights go off

i had the same problem with a 94 chevy truck i know they are different years but chevys are funny vehicles try running a ground wire from your fire wall to your winshield wiper motor, just pull the wiper motor off of the fire wall and put the wire in place behind the motor and you should be good like i said it is worth a shot the same exact thing happened to my 94 and after painstaking hours of following and checking every wire a buddy suggested i try this because they have ground problems and somehow are connected with each other no idea but it worked for me... thanks sam barnett lol
i hope this helps

On a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck the brake lights and the turn signals and winshield wipers dont work the only brake light that works is above the cab. and the turn signal flashes on the dash like they are...

I suspect a bad multi function switch located in the left hand side of the steering column. This switch controls your high/low beams/wiper delay/windshield washer/turn signals and hazards.
