Then the problem wasn't resolved, or a

If you didn't do the work, take it back

Am I missing something I should guess at?

How much to change timing belt on kia sorento 2006

This all depends on what engine you have and also if you are going to just do the belt.
this car , if you have a 100,000 miles or close you should do the job right, right meaning replace the timing belt ,water pump and timing belt pulleys and tensioner, this could run about $1200.00.

the same job with the smaller engine could be $800.00

if you just do the belt alone which is not the right way but can be done then it may cost about $500.00 -$600.00

I have a 2008 Kia Sorento LX 3.3. where is the adjuster bolt for the idler pulley? Trying to change serpentine belt and idler pulley.

The idler pulley deflects out of the way using a special wrench, the pulley is held against the belt only by a preset spring tension mechanism. You put the wrench on the bolt or in the square drive hole and deflect the pulley away from the belt, it must be manually held there to put the new belt on and then released to tension the new belt.

It started with a loud rattling sound in the engine and shortly after it stalled. My mechanic said it needs an entire Timing Assembly. Exactly what is that? How many parts make up the Timing Assembly. what...

The timing belt system has a belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys. This system rotates the camshafts that open and close the cylinder valves, part prices vary, as do labor times.

How to change a timeing belt on a 2006 Kia Sorento?

Kia engines are interference engines. If the Timing belt is not done exactly right you will destroy your engine. I don't recomend anyone do a timing belt unless you allready know exactly how to do it right.
I have done many , and made a SMALL mistake on my mazda last month and ended up having to rebuild the head and replace valves , guides , and seals.

2006 kia sorento makes a squealing sound under

It is either the tesnioner or the belt....easy way to find out is to spray the pulley that has no grooves....that's the tensioner. Spray it with WD-40 or equivalent, in the middle of the pulley. That is the bearing housing. Spray only that first. Start the motor...if it goes away, then you have found your problem. Try not to spray the belt.

If it still squeals, spray the belt with the engine running. If it squeals, replace the belt.

Has anything been done to the motor recenlty? If so, one of the pulleys may be a little off-centered.

Let me know what you find.
