SOURCE: location of air conditioner low pressure valve

The low pressure valve on the 01 expedition is located on the accumulator on the passenger side fire wall. The accumulator is underneath the battery relay and a grouping of wires. Had to squeeze hand underneath a heater hose and an a/c line to remove cap and hook up hose. Nothing has to be removed to locate the valve just a little touchy feely. Valve faces a 45 forward toward the engine.

SOURCE: 2001 ford expedition spark plug location

That's because they are hidden quite well. If you look at the engine, you'll see yellow plastic prongs (?) that look like spark plugs, but hook up to the silver tubing.  That's the fuel injectors.  BUT, right behind the yellow plugs, are black ones.  The black one is the connector to the spark plug.  The plug itself sits about 4 inches down into the block of the engine.  They are a real pain, and from what I can tell, you only have decent access to the first 2-4 of them, then they get too far back and start going under the dash (you'll see what I mean when you get there).

Its a faulty heater control valve that is located in between the engine and the heater core or just before the firewall.

I have a 2001 ford expedition my ac works just fine but the heater does not work at all. Any suggestions?

Could be a couple of things. Newer vehicles have a heater control valve inline with the hoses that lead to the heater core. Another thing to check would be your coolant level. If it is low air can become trapped in the line and restrict flow to the heater core. Be careful when checking your coolant level it is a pressurized system.

I cant locate my heater control valve, where is it???

The heater flow can be checked by feeling the hoses at the inlet and outlet to the heater core. If the heater has a control valve and it is open, both hoses should be warm. This indicates that coolant is flowing through the heater core. If the outlet hose is cold, there must be an obstruction in the heater core or control valve.

Diagram bypass heater cord on 2001 ford expedition eddie bauer

the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
