You need to get a new alternator... They are not too entirely expensive and they are relatively simple to install... just a few bolts and a belt that you need to loosen to take the old one off, and tighten it when the new one is on. maybe 200 bucks.

Hope this helps, please rate...thanks

I got a 69 chevy c10 the starter wire grounded to the exhaust fixd that then it wuldnt charge so changed the voltage regular then starter & silaniod seems like its holdn a charge but still wo

Hey Steve, if you need a jump to start it then every thing is working except battery holding power try putting battery on a SLOW charge for a day then try again when its running check output of altinator with a fully charged battery it should be 12.5-13.5 volts and rise when you rev motor up ,when you jump it im thinking the battery is very low and the altinator is trying to recharge battery and it cant do that in just a few minutes running time or take it on along ride and watch amp gauge .good luck Steve.

2001 ford windstar, van has been setting for a year, got my license back and went to start the van, no fuel pump noise, replaced fuel pump, started just fine drove it around for a day parked it now wo

Can you hear the fuel pump run, if not it may have failed again. I have seen new fuel pumps last a day or two and then fail. If your pump is working then replace the fuel filter. Anytime you open the fuel system, you should replace the filter.

1995 ford explorer wont start

You could be right. It could also be a bad connection between the battery and starter. It takes 11 volts to crank a Ford starter.
You might want to clean the cables and check the voltage at the starter post.
Could also be a problem with the engine.

My car is clicking but not starting

First check your battery voltage it should be at least 12 volts if it does'nt replace the battery. If you have 12 volts at the battery then the starter solenoid is bad.Replace solenoid. Also make sure all connections from battery to starter are good.

I pulled the starter, alternator & battery they all checked good and ity still wont turn over what could it be?

If you can hear the starter click or engage when you try to start . Either the battery has low voltage or the engine has seized. You can check the engine by putting a wrench on the crank pulley bolt and try to turn by hand.Make sure to disconnect the battery first. If the engine turns it's good. If the starter is making a loud grinding noise but does'nt turn the engine. It's your flywheel/flexplate. Also make sure your battery connections are clean and tight for proper voltage delivery. I'm not sure if your car would have a fuse or power relay for the starter, but it might be worth checking out. If you do not hear a click from the starter when you turn the key it could be a short in the ignition switch. Not the key tumbler, the electrical switch is behind the ignition key tumbler. Hope this helps. Other than this you may need a repair manual to trace the wiring of the starting system and fusable links.

I change timing bellt after that wo'nt start please help

I was wondering if it broke before you changed it. Even if you was one tooth off it still should have started at least and maybe not run too good which will not hurt the engine. You could be 180* off on the timing. If you like you can register your car at autozone.com and it is all for free and there you can access any repair diagrams. Great tool for future repairs.
