Re: The num. 2 injector stays open
You will need to unplug the suspected bad injector. Then using a multi-meter on the lowest ohm setting check the resistance between both pins. A good working injector has a range of 12-15 ohms. If the resistance is higher just replace the injector.

each coil and injector have a reference wire that sends a code to the computer if num 1 misfire is coded it registers it and then whenit goes on its 2 time around and it still has the same reference it lights up the check engine light to erase it you need scanner if not able unplug battery if comes back you have to check plugs, coils, wires, or just the connectios at the ignition harness in the engine
use a digital volt meter, put it on the ohm scale check number 2 fuel injector should be 11 to 16 ohms if not reads zero fuel injector faulty.if numbe 2 fuel injector okay.use noid light hook it to fuel injector electrical connector with fuel injector disconnected and see if pcm is firing the fuel injector noid light should blink when cranking the engine.if light steady pcm not firing 2 fuel injector,if noid light dont light up.there is a open in the wiring connector 2 fuel injector 2. if fuel injector okay, check spark plug, carbon foul you have a bad ignition coil or wire if you see oil on spark plug you have worn piston ring or leaking valve guides allowing oil to foul out spark plug.do a compression test check compression to see condition of the cylinder.
Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression. Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.
It tells that your vehicule computer has detected a problem with one or some of tthe components. The computer then saved/stored a code to help problem investigation and turned on that warning light. A scanner has to be hooked up to the computer to get that (these) fault code.Visit your auto part store. They should put the scanner on and let you know the stored code(s) for free.
As soon you'll get it let us know and we will guide you identifying potential causes.
Hope it will help
I have the same problem with my 2001 escape V6. there is a really cheap temporaly fix....actually it could be permanent and will never damage your vehicule. When u open the hood there is a plastic guard with the ford logo and engine size that is held in place with 3 bolts, 1 on the left 2 on the rigth. Unscrew these and the guarding comes off. Once this remove you will see the accelarator pedal cable hook to the throttle. U can rock the throttle manually to give more gaz when your motor is running. At the bottom of the throttle there is a small screw that is not touching to anything, if u screw it a couple of turn it will start pushing on the throttle and stop your vehicule from stalling. Adjust this screw until your RPM indicator on your dash board is at around 600 rpm wich is the normal idle speed of your motor when functionning normaly. The real problem is an air intake valve that is defective (150$) because it open when the vehicule starts but shut because defective causing your engine to stall because no air for combustion....By forcing the screw on the throttle the valve cannot shut down and that is why your vehicule wont stall........It takes a full 5 minutes to do the mechanical screw fix...And I drove one year on it before replacing the valve........good luck from a friendly canadian........
if fuel pump stay running that one thing but it should not get the cylinder full of gas unless injector stay open if as soon you put the key on the injector open anf fill the cylinder that sound like our computer is shorted try another computer if its ok change the oil before you go the engine is full of gas hope it a fixya thanks pierre
