When my car is cold it makes a ratteling sound under the hood but goes away when its warmed up. Now when I put it in gear it sounds like something is jumping. Hyundai sonata 2004 4cyl. just had motor mounts done.

I have a 2012 vw GLI manual. When I start the car there's a rattling sound(sound like from the engine). The sound diminish at idle but is still there. When I press down on the clutch it goes away. ...

Hi Roc, If the sound disappeared when the clutch assembly was replaced or attended to, it would seem to be related to something going wrong in that department. Presumably the vehicle is under warranty so the dealer should receive it as a return job. Regards John

Sounds like maybe a belt is loose, but they are all tight. Sound goes away after the yukon warms up

Try putting a new belt on, maybe better brand of belt, they do make belt stop sqeek but its not worth buying. Belts can make noise when cold, check to see if maybe your belt skipped a notch.

When I sart my 05 Sedona in the morning and put it in to gear it makes a ratteling noise and then when warmed up its fine.... Is this something major?

If it happens for about 10 seconds when it's cold but doesn't happen when the engine is started again until it has sat for several hours then it's your timing chain tensioners. Hyundai/Kia have a TSB for this, see the dealership.

I would suggest hat you replace the timing belt. The noise that you hear is the belt.

Firstly, this is assuming that this is a 5.2 or 3.9 engine. The newer 4.7 modle would be totally different.
Sounds like a intake gasket issue(#3) intake gaskets and a belly pan gasket were quite common place one these modles.
(#2) The passing gear or kickdown is adjustable at the throttle body
(#1) This sound is quite likely normal for this truck. Have heard of many trucks sounding the same and at the time it was normal.
