Horn not working

My horn doesn't work. At first I thought it was just a fuse as the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and now I just get a very faint weak sound from something under the hood but it doesn't sound like the horn.

Where is a good place to go find a diagram of where to locate the relay to the horn or the horn itself on a 2002 Land Cruiser?

owners manual has one, and many have a listing inside the fuse cover.

Have your mechanic check for 12 volts to the horns when the horn button is depressed. If 12 volts are present, the horns are defective. If zero volts, check horn relay and check for bad connections.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or it is the horn, and that has gone bad. Could also be low voltage getting to the horn.
You should have a relay separate from the fuse for it.
Find that relay and swap it with another one of the same size.
like, if the power windows or headlights are the same part number for the relay, just switch them for the test.
if the relay is not the problem, and the horn itself is a no go, the problem could be in the steering wheel/horn ring. under the airbag.

hope this puts you on the right track

Horn does not work. Have replaced horn relay & fuse and it still isn't working. Please advise

Check to make sure that horn is connected at the steering wheel.
Remove the portion of the wheel that you push to activate the horn
and reconnect the wire. If that doesn't work check connections at
the horn(s).

My horn doesn't work on my 1999 Lincoln Navigator, any suggestions?

There are also relays for the horn. First check would be the connections at the horn then the fuse. If the fuse isn't blown, it's possible that the relay has gone on it. Another item to check would be the wires leading up to the horn it's self. If any of them are frayed and touching bare metal, causing a short circuit, the horn wouldn't work then.

Horn dosen't work

Check fuse. Usually located under the Steering wheel or under the hood. You will have to use the other side of the cover to determine which fuse controls the horn and see if the metal link is broken. If both are not blown its probably a short in the wire. If it randomly just happened then its a good first guess without knowing any further details.

Usually I check all my fuses any time I am looking for a specific one. Sometimes a random fuse can be the cause, and not the actual Horn fuse that is blown.

The horn doesn't work. Where is the fuse located?

The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the horn fuse it should be around 30 amps. A small pair or pliers will help removing the fuses for inspection.

But it may not be the fuse. Also check the horn relay and the horn button itself.

Horn doesnt work

check horn fuse or relay in fuse and relay box (under hood). The fuse you can visually check by looking for a blown metal strip in the fuse (use chart on fuse box lid for labels). relays are more difficult to explain how to test. but they are cheap. you can try buying a new horn relay and installing it. after that, if it still doesn't work there could be a probably with the switch in the steering wheel. if it is i recommend you take it to a shop to diag and fix. worst case it could be a bad horn and/or elctrical wire and connection. A local shop could fix this. But check the horn fuse and relay that more than likely what it is.

92 accord horn stopped working after going thought

If your fuse is not blown, then you'll want to test the horn voltage with a test light at the horn while the horn switch is being pressed.

I would suggest unplugging the horn & just testing the wire for 12V + and if you have voltage there but the horn won't work when reconnected you'll have to replace the horn.

If the voltage is missing at the horn connection when you do the test, then it has to be either the fuse or the relay, and finally, the switch on the steering wheel. Wiring is a last consideration based upon the circumstance.

The owners manual will have the fuse & relay location.

It of course would be a coincidence for it to be anything but the horn & I do expect that the horn is bad or has a bad connection which you'll correct when you reconnect it after testing! good luck
