2002 chevy s10 temperature gauge jumping around, feels like automatic transmission slipping at speeds above 60 mph

Do you have an OBDII scanner to check the real temperature? Want to make sure it's not overheating. If it's normal, could be your temperature sensor starting to go out, or ignition switch. Any check engine lights? If so, get the code for me, can go from there. At a constant speed, you sure it wasn't a misfire instead? Check your trans fluid, make sure it's full. I was just in Tahoe, pretty sad not much snow at all.

I have a 95 Tahoe with 158000 miles. In Maryland you have to get your vehicle emmission tested every 2yrs and mine passed the highway speed and lower speed exhaust emmissions but failed at idle test. Is...

could be a slight air leak on the exhaust like a small rust hole and its drawing in the air ,the proper way is to put a probe up the tailpipe but without knowing what the results were its very difficult to diagnose ,was it too high on O2 as this signifies a hole in the exhaust ,was it too high on CO or CO2 ,You see our test is every year on vehicles over ten years of age and it also includes a mechanical test as well but the emmisions is done with a probe not the OBDII as very few europeon vehicles can be read via the OBDII as they nearly all use encrypted software now from 2005 .

Have replace odometer two time in 2003 chev tahoe

un hooking the battery doesnt reset the computer much with a OBDII system,Its possible if you didnt unhook the battery when changing the odometer that static got into the circuit board. For example:i used to own a 1992 Buick Regal that the odometer wasnt working,i took it to Buick and they could not Fix it,it was under warranty at the time, they paid me $100.00 for me to go away,OK,i bought a book but that didnt help,i accidentally ran a screwdriver across the circuit board with the battery disconnected and saw a spark, after that it worked fine for years.Im assuming that static was the problem.Maybe pull yours out again with the battery disconnected and turn on the key to absorb any stored electricity, and unhook it and reinstall may do the trick. But this may not be the problem or answer to fix it,but its something to try.

Reset check engine light on 2007 Chevy tahoe

resetting must be done with an obdII compliant code reader or scanner, check with your local parts store, many offer this service for free, but be aware, this is no substitute for a professional diagnosis, don't let them sell you parts based on codes alone

Take a 94 5.7 and put it in a 96 tahoe

Hopefully the cylinder heads are good or repairable and the intake manifold can be mounted on the 94 short block for optimal results. Those heads are worth fixing and returning back to service. The next major hurdle would be the ECM and wiring harness as the 1996 is OBDII which creates huge differences in the old school 94 E/C.All the more reasons to continue using all the 96 items from the heads up .

Where to hook up my OBDII code reader on 2003 Tahoe?

Either a trap door in the panel under the steering wheel, or up under the dash pointing down (near the outer wall)
