Heater blower motor replacement 99 impreza

Hello, I went to replace my blower motor today, went to Pep Boys and Autozone, and both of the motors they gave me did not appear to match my OEM part. The replacements they offered were smaller, and had two wires (+/-) coming out of them. The OEM part looks to be sealed and has a female piece to accept the male wiring unit under my dash. So I am wondering if the OEM housing comes apart possibly, and I need to wire it myself, or if I need the entire unit that matches the OEM part exactly. Thanks

They don't match so ask the question at:

If that does not help look at the video posted on about that part. That is all I can do to try and help.

SOURCE: wiring diagram for a subaru impreza

There is no full wiring diadram for this model. All the schematics are divided into the various electrical systems on the car. There are around 50 charts to make up the set. Perhaps if you let me know what system you are interested in, I may be able to help.

Power window will not close

Replace your Motor/Regulator. The motor burns out and leaves your window just hanging there open...Look up you model at autozone or pep boys or whatever auto parts store you have around. The replacement is simple, provided you don't mind taking the door panel off of your car. There are only 2 or 3 bolts holding it in and one wire connector usually.

The heater stopped working on my 97 blazer

When mine stopped I just had to replace the blower motor and then it was good to go. It's on the passenger side in the back of the engine compartment and is accessed from the top (basically it's located behind the glove box area). I originally went to a junk yard to get one. That lasted exactly a year. I went to Pep Boys and spent maybe $10 more for a new one and that one's been great. Hope that helps.

You can purchase a new motor at your local auto part store (Pep Boys, Autozone, Oreilly's, Napa...ect) There is usually just 4 small bolts that hold the motor into the air box housing and one electrical connector. You should be able to locate your motor under the dash on the passenger side.

You can get an aftermarket replacement for less than $150 at AutoZone. Also, you should be able to find a replacement at one of the other automotive parts chain stores like Pep Boys, etc. Some of the stores may even offer installation.

Subaru a/c and heater fan doesn't work

You could have a blown fuse, bad relay, bad blower motor resistor pack, or just a bad blower motor. Start with checking your fuse to make sure you have power to you blower motor.

My blower fan stopped working

I just had this problem on my 98 tracer. Turned out to be the resistor for the blower motor. It was located under the passenger side dash next to the motor. Three screws held mine in. Simple plug and play. Check a manual in Autozone or Pep Boys for your model and it will show you where it is. $15 fix and 5 minutes. Any Ford dealer will have the part.
