Hello mhak330: My name is Roger and I can give you the answer to your question. Locate the ECM on the drivers side of the engine.look for the bottom bolt holding the ECM. Why do i not have any oil pressure at a idle on a 2004.5 5.9 cummins?

If you have LOST Oil Pressure (Verified by the Gauge), then you could either have a clogged Oil Passages and no oil to move or worn Bearings or a Bad Oil Pump. DODGE has a HUGE ISSUE with SLUDGE. Adding a FLUSH (I actually use Diesel Fuel) in the Oil (2 quarts of Diesel for every 6 quarts of Oil) (this has worked for me for years and taught to me by a NASCAR OFFICIAL. Do not DRIVE the vehicle, but let it Idle for 20 Minutes while Monitoring Temperature. If the Oil Pressure is Truly ZERO, then Raise the RPM to get Oil Pressure UP to prevent any damage (lowest RPM to get Oil Pressure). After doing this for 20-30 minutes, Drain the Oil and change the Oil and Filter. Use a HIGHER OIL (20W-50) and see what happens. If the Oil Pressure goes up, then you probably have a clearance issue with your Main / Rod Bearings... If the Pressure goes down to Zero after it raises to Temp, then you need to change the Pump and Bearings.... Good Luck

Do i need o prime my brand new crate motor

I would prime it. fill the oil filter up as much as you can with oil. now take the distributor out ( mark or remember where the rotor is pointing) now take a large screwdriver or something that you can turn the pump until it gets hard to turn, then keep turning it for another 20 seconds, then you should be primed. you can damage your new engine if it runs without oil for a several seconds. The easy way , but I dont like it, is disconnect the coil or whatever so it wont start and try cranking the motor until the oil light goes out, then rehook everything and crank it up.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 5.9L cummins diesel with 6speed manual transmission. How do I change the transmission oil?

There should be 2 plugs in the trans - one for drain and one to fill. Just make sure you use the correct fluid - chack with your dealer.

Need part # for fan bearing assembly on 2003 ram cummins 3/4 ton. Bearing went out. Also is this a press in bearing?

Hello travis...The second generation Rams used Cummins part #3910739 a double row angular seated sealed bearing for the fan hub. Cummins is proud of it, indicitive of it's price. If you can remove your old bearing from the outer race there will be a part number on it. Your local bearing supply house can cross it over. Do not try to install the bearing with something that could side load the bearing such as a hammer and drift, the result will be premature failure. Recommend useing a shop press to install new bearing. Good luck...i hope this helps.

Dodge cummins auto transmission

hello dodge cummins owner i myself have a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.9L truck and i just recently had to rebuild my transmission. my truck would go fine in reverse but would not move in forward. when i took the trany apart i found out that the clutchs were completely gone. but in order to rebuild your trany i would sugest in getting a shop repair manual. i had purchased a shift kit for 400 dollars and it came with all the clutchs that i needed and that is much cheaper than buying a tranny or even haveing a shop work on it. the shop wanted 1500 dollars to rebuild it and to buy a new tranny it was over 2000 dollars.
