SOURCE: 1989 Corvette - Windshield Wiper Arm

On mine I lifted up the arm,at the base where its connected to the car there is a little metal tap that sticks out. Pick up on the tab,at the same time release the arm. It should stay up. Then kind of wiggle the base near the tab while pulling up on the arm.It should come right off.Its on a spline like stub.Try to put it back on the same spline teeth it came off of.This keeps the arm in the proper place. Once off its easier to see how the blades come off. Try calling a large auto parts store to see if they have your proper blades. Most large auto parts stores will install the blades for you for free if you buy blades from them.Dont buy the cheapest ones, they dont last.
I hope this helps you.

The 1990 Chevrolet Suburban has the most common hook-end wiper arms. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

Aftr ice storm passenger wiper arm pops off spline. I push it on and it seems to be seated but when i turn wiper motor on it lifts up and doesn't move. The spline is moving with motor when on. Is it...

there is normally a clip that would hold the wiper on the spindle.
this could be broken, or as you say, the spline or the wiper could be stripped.

i have drilled into the spline like that with varying degrees of success.
some splines have a steel shaft in the middle that makes it difficult to drill straight.
also, do not drill more than 1/4 inch into the splines as you will seriously weaken it and it will probably fall off as you try to do up the bolt.

obviously, the best way is to replace the damaged part but i have drilled through and had the wipers work for years afterwards. i have also had them fall off again or snap the first time they are used.
it is worth trying for a short term repair, but should be done properly to ensure safe wipers

How do I replace wiper blades

First, pull on the wiper arm until it raises and locks into the service position. The wiper arm will stand by itself once you raise it past a certain point.
Then find the clip on the underside of the wiper arm (rotate the blade slightly to get to it.
Press the clip in while simultaneously pulling the old wiper blade off the wiper arm. You can then discard the old blade.
Align the new wiper blade with the wiper arm track. Slide it along the track until you hear it click.
Repeat this process with the other wiper blade to complete the replacement of wiper blades on your Highlander.
Return the wiper arms to their normal position against the windshield. Done!

How do you remove the windshield wiper arms of a 1990 nissan maxima

To remove the end caps from the wiper arms. When you pull back the wipers, it is the small cover that didn't pull back. Pull it back. You will see a nut, or a screw, to remove arm. Take note of wiper position beforeyou remove! They have to be put back exactly, at the same angle you tookk them off.

Winddhield wiper arms disconnected - the gromets have disintergrated.

I took it apart piece by piece. Replaced those groumets that attached to each arm and reinserted the windshield wiper and arms. Thanks but I think you are a little to expensive for most of us out here trying to save a few bucks.

1990 dodge dakota windo wipers

I had the same problem and here is what I did. First remove the wiper arm from the motor using a 7/16 wrench. Once the arm is off remove the old bushing ( mine fell off completely). Next I moved the washer arm so it sticks out of the vent cover. Get the new bushing and line it up to the arm. I then put a socket ( I used 11/16)on the back of the arm and used a c clamp to push the bushing into the slotted hole. Back the clamp off and line up the drive arm with the hole in the bushing and retighten the clamp. Apply pressure until it seats completely.Once done you can replace arm to the motor. Test wipers to see if the bushing is going to stay seated. You are now ready to replace vent cover and cowl.
p.s. I have pictures that need to be resized before I can post
