About all a bad thermostat can do is get stuck open or get stuck closed. If stuck closed, engine will overheat-coolant can't circulate through the radiator.
If stuck open, will take a long, long time for engine to reach normal operating temperature-about 20-30 minutes driving or more.

SOURCE: 1995 Chevy Tahoe 5.7L V8: thermostat temperature/running temp?

Depends on what thermostat you put in. Stock is a 190*. Which will usally run about 200-210. That's where most all small blocks are happy.

I have 98 chevy tahoe whin i put heat on for floor it comes out top does any budy know

I remember my 94 yukon had a little flap by the heater air box under the dash that was motorized. This went out on me. It is possible the diversion flap on yours, like most cars, is vaccum powered. So if thats the case it is either a vaccum leak, or a bad thermostatic control unit. Chevys have been know for bad controls in these vehivcles. The fan speed switch is a common one to go because it is used most often.

My 1995 chevy tahoe runs good until my check gages light comes on

unfortunately on this type of service (internet) it is hard to deterine what is causing the check lamp to come on.........but the reason it is running bad is a thing called "limp home" mode. previuosly, if cars had a fault that was serious enough, the computer would shut the car down, having it to be towed
these days the limp home mode was established, because if the car was driven with the fault, then it would cause excessive damage.

my advice would be to take it to a chevy dealership and get them to diagnose ONLY, then come back and we will share what we can do with it

My tahoe acts like it wants to cut off while driving on bumpy road then its ok for a while.

You either have a bad connection from your coil pack or bad ground. Bad connection somewhere. Check all connections and make sure all spark plug wires are on tight.

1995 tahoe desiel stalls when driving

I used to live on a farm where we had a number of Chevy diesel's in the 90-98 year range. The 6.2 and 6.5L diesel's in those trucks were known to have problems. A very common problem was with the fuel injection pump going bad, causing the engine to intermittently stall for apparently no reason during driving.

try it with no thermostat if its still the same only later then try changing the sensor unit.racking my one brain cell here had a problem like this on a seat ,and it was the fan cut in switch its first run it wouldnt cut in then afterwards it was fine all day ,thermostatic coupling switch is the technical term to you me its the switch in the radiator that puts the fan on.
