SOURCE: i got 1995 nissan maxima

The knock sensor error could be the sensor, sensor circuit, or some misfire caused by a dirty/bad injector or some ignition problem.

One issue that might tie it all together is coolant leak causing the misfire/knock like a head gasket, but I think you would be throwing more codes or you would see more problems than what you have.

SOURCE: My 1997 Nissan Maxima will not start. It's not

If the spark plugs aren't firing then you just have to follow it backwards. the spark plugs should be connected to a coil or distributor. The problem could be there.

There are 4 relays in the in dash fuse box of my 86 nissan maxima the 2 on the left are melted and i dont know what they are 4

If it is the same as a Nissan Sentra, and Nissans were pretty standard, those two would be the accessory relay on the far left and the ignition relay next to it. The other two relays are the fuel pump relay and the ECCS relay (for the engine computer operation).

Does the engine still start and run? The ignition relay doesn't affect engine running. It's primary purpose is to power up that portion of the fuse block that the accessory relay does not cover, like the dash gauges and warning lights and turn signals, a few other too, I think..

Hi i have a 2000 nissan maxima ai it keep geting a code 1320

1320 This is an ignition coil may have gotten wet or could be faulty very common fault on this car, sometimes you can disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and it will reset the cars computer thats if you have an engine light on, 1320 would normally cause a misfire and in most causes you have to buy a new coil.

Hope this helps

I have a 1997 nissan maxima and when i try to start it it will not say anything

try to check the battery if voltage is adequate. If it checks out OK, you may want to check on the connections, the ground wires and wiring that leads to the starter, the starter relay and the ignition. It may also be the starter relay.

    I need to troubleshoot dtc p0325 & p1320 on a 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE?

The two codes seem to be related. The P0325 description is knock sensor circuit malfunction and the P1320 is ignition signal - circuit malfunction.

I'll summarize and then give links on more detailed articles I found. Basically the P0325 refers to the knock sensor and associated wiring. The P1320 refers to the ignition coil and wiring. Check the sensor, coil, and associated wiring.

    I found some great articles:
    P0325 -
    P1320 -

    Good luck!
