Re: key remote for 2003 lin. navigator how do i reset
If all others fail with programming hot remotes, make sure your battery in the remote is good go to a automate store usually they'll have a device on the counter to see if your remotes are transmitting if so then un-hook your vehicles battery cable ( ) side wait 3min. Re-attach giving your onboard computer time to reset it's self

Under the hood you will find things called Power Boxes. They can be marked with plastic molded labels and the one with "Fuel Pump Relay" can be removed from its position and all power to the fuel pump will end. Then you need to disconnect the Negative Battery cable to save the battery and kill anything electrical.
Be aware that the Anti-theft will be inactive. You can lock and unlock your car with the key.
You then need to have the ignition switch serviced.
Check to make sure the button on the trunk latch is turned from manual unlock...they made that feature so only the key will work to open the trunk that way if someone breaks in the front of your car they can't hit the trunk release and get into the trunk...may be the same thing for your remote. Hope that helps.
replace batteries in remotes, then with key unlock car/hold key over windows go down, wait 20 secs, then lock/hold key over, windows go up,wait 20secs, then using remote press/hold down the unlock button for 30 secs.you have just reset the alarm/immobiliser.if remotes/keys dont work after this, then take it to a dealer for a computer/key reset.
