Is there coolant present in the hoses leading in and out? If so than there could be air bubble in system and it needs bleeding. I just fixed one with compressed air blown through heater core.

1st your fan motor may be going or something has fallen in the vents you will need to gain access for that, or it might be YOU MAY HAVE AIR BLOCK, OR BLOCKED HEATER MATRIX, CHECK FIRST CHECK THE HEIGHT OF THE HEATER MATRIX IN THE CAB , IF ITS HIGHER THAN THE FILLER/EXPANSION TANK. THEN COULD BE AN AIR LOCK, LOOK FOR THE HIGHEST PIPE AND SEE IF THERE IS A BLEED VALVE, IF NOT TAKE BOTH PIPES OFF THE MATRIX FEEDS (TWO PIPES GOING FROM ENGINE BAY TO INSIDE OF CAR, AND FLUSH OUT WITH HOSE TO SEE IF IT IS BLOCKED, AND RECONNECT LOWEST PIPE FIRST AND FILL SYSTYM TILL WATER APPEAR FROM TOP AND RECONNECT RUN MOTOR, AND KEEP TOPIN UP, YOU CAN BY A COOLENT FLUSH SOLUTION TO CLEAN THE SYSTYM OUT

SOURCE: 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo. Automatic.

The valve seals are leaking. When they leak then oil drips down in the cylinder. Causing the puff of smoke. And somewhat fouls the spark plug. When you rev it up it cleans the oil off of the spark plug and then the plug fires properly.

I am trying to find a diagram to replace the heater core for a 1983 celica supra

I am the master when it comes to MKII Supra's. You dont need a diagram for this all you have to do is locate the 2 hoses on the firewall and then pull the glove box, and the lower panel off on the passenger side. You will have to remove the blower motor as well. But compared to most cars this is one thing on a supra that really isnt too bad to do. If you need a pic of the location let me know. I have my 85 supra apart and I can snap a pic of the heater core if you need it as a diagram.

Smells like anti freeze and smokes alot when given gas and also smokes when idleing under the airfilter on the passenger side of an 1990 supra yo

If there is white smoke coming out of that location, chances are that you have a heater core leak. Hot radiator fluid passes through 2 smaller radiator tubes to the heater core. Air from the fan is passed over the heat exchanger, and hot air blows out. White smoke = steam. You can block off the heater core tubes until you can get it replaced.

My heater is not working on my Supra. Its a 1989 model. I have changed the thermostat but that has not solved the problem

It is most likely the vsv under the hood by the passenger side firewall. Mine would only blow cold air. As soon as I bypassed the electronic vsv vacuum hoses the vacuum switch opened hot water from the radiator into the heater core and presto I now have heat. I found a vsv at a junk yard today and will replace next weekend but for now at least I have heat. Basically the vsv is what tell the vacuum switch how much to open and close to fluctuate the hot water running through the heater core. By bypassing it I cannot adjust the temp. inside the cabin except through hitting a lower blower button. I hope this helps.

When the voltage light comes on that means the alternator is not working. Charge you battery and go over to Auto Zone they can test it for free.
