SOURCE: power driver seat in F150 moves back but not forward

Just picking at you. It would have to be a bad switch. Forward and back are on the same circuit switch just reverses the power and ground to the motor.

SOURCE: Driver seat not moving back and forth

under the seat is a thin wire that goes from one side to the other it has most likely broke you need to find the secondary lock it was connected to and release it to move the seat but you must also release the main lock so i suggest replacing the wire . THIS IS FOR MANUEL SEATS
now as for power seats you will have to locate the power lead wire and make sure it is not broke if so you can replace the connecter with an aftermarket one and it may work again

SOURCE: trying to remove glove box

  • If your seat will not go forward or back we want to test the switch first as this is the most common offender.
  1. Remove the negative battery cable first and set it aside so it does not ground.
  2. now as you look at the picture I uploaded you just want gently pry up the switch responsible for the seat movement.

  • This is the picture of the different results of a continuity test. Get your mulitmeter and put it on Ohms and see how the switch tests.
ironfist109_146.jpg

  • Once you have ran a test on the switch you will know if it is the switch or not. If it is the switch then replace it.
  • If not then you need to get a DRB scan tool and test the to test the PCI data bus network. If you have never used a DRB scanner I recommend having a technician do this. Not only that but they are very expensive to buy.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: My 2006 Hyundai Sonata driver side power seat

the switch in the drivers seat is bad. very common. if you had access to some good jumper wires you could jump across the motor circuit and make the seat go up but you would have to be a good " doityourselfer" . that switch isn't hard to replace though. you will also need a new sunvisor. it should be held up with two screws that are hidden by a plastic trim piece.

Check underneath the seat for an inline fuse. It is a glass type fuse in a fuse holder that you have to push and twist to get out.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You make up seat back stops out of some type
of hard plastic to move the seat back forward

If you have no stops on each corner, then the seat
comes out, upholstory off & some TIG Welding takes
place to modify to your likeing

You could shim the rear mounting brackets
on the floor but that is sort of crude & the bottom
cushion will feel odd

Suzuki Swift Driver's Seat

Four bolts hold the seat onto the floor. By removing these you can easily remove the seat. Once upside down then you can see what is wrong with the slide mechanism. may just require a clean and light oil to fix. have fun

cover from the lower anchor.4. Slide the seat all the way forward, then remove the seat track end covers from the back of both seat tracks.5. Slide the seat about half way to the rear so you can access the seat mounting bolts. If equipped with the driver's 8-way power seat, fully raise the seat.

tighten Before attaching the lower anchor bolts, make sure there are no twists or kinks in
the seat belts. 04-07 models passenger's seat: The triangle marks on the anchor plate and
