Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: hand held diagnostic tool

OK...
If the scann tool is powered with the power of the Vehicle.
It's mean the connector is missing a power .
To fix this you need to check. the following
Check the " CIG" fuse 15amp. This fuse give +12 v to the cigarret lighter and OBDII diagnostic connector.
Is the Orange Wire of the OBDII connector and PIN # 16
The Ground is the PIN # 4, black wire, and PIN # 5, black/white.
Be sure of this wires are correct fix if any need,
after try to sacn again or see if there a power when you connect the Scann tool.

OK.. I hope this help to try diagnostic your vehicle,
Thank you for use fixya.

any further info, let me know.

Gauges gone, except key signal.

fuses first. as always for ever. (its all electrical ,now to run engine)
and shift.
All jeeps 93 + have a thing (fear box) ASD relay.
nowing how it works and why , makes all this easy
any scan tool will tell you why. Innova 3120 (does jeeps this year)
a $100 tool
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Equus-3120-Innova-Diagnostic-Code-Scanner/14644658
with special cables for jeep , OBD1 DTC port.

the tool will tell you , what DTC failure and why ASD drops.

http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/ASD.html

the key on ,off trick may work
but be warned the keyone off trick does clear some spark failure codes and will not tell you the extended codes, of the factory DRB tool. so the INNOVA can be a "revelation"
id never own any jeep before 1996 , with no scan tool.
not me. first time it saves you, its now PAID FOR.
Investment grade TOOLS. if ever there was.
not $100 shop labor and no tools and guessing parts.
win.

What does diagnostic code 62AAA mean?

Try Google

Never saw a code like that

Doesn't look right & it has to
be manufacture specific & a body
or ECU (computer) code

I think your best with a professional scan tool ,
to get enhanced euro codes, not generic

That is no generic code

Is there any suggestion, my friend want to buy a obd2 diagnostic scanner, what should he pay attention to ?

Make sure it's a good one, does'nt have to be top of the line. Just make sure it is upgradeable and that you can purchase other attachments if needed, do your research.

Diagnostic codes

the on off on off on method worked great on older chrysler vehicles, but its not reliable on the OBD2 systems.

all vehicles sold in the us as of 1996 are OBD2 compliant "on board diagnostics second generation" this is a universal system across all vehicles.

take your vehicle to your local parts store and ask them to scan it for you, most part stores wont even charge for the quick scan, dont let them erase the codes because there is other information in the system that will be useful for diagnostics.

get the code list and drop me a line and i will help you out.
