Question about Mitsubishi Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant Viento 24V GDI, it cuts out when it gets hot and wont start again untill its cooled down again. Been told that may be faulty coil pack or packs, or maybe a cam or crank

It runs a little bit rough for a little while when it starts, but can get it to idle eventually, then it will just cut out after a while or driving or idling, and wont start again until it cooled down, then the cycle just repeats its self

Im in New Zealang guys, also live in high sulphur levels. Its not that it just stalls, it wont start again for at least 20-40mins after it dies. Also, sometimes the engine check light comes on just before it happens

Was wondering if maybe, dodgy coil packs are causing the fault when theyre hot

Ok, so ive had it running, and coils tested up fine. Its a Fly by Wire system (no accelerator cable, all sensors and magnets). Now i got it warm and did manage to get it to stall acouple times for me just idling once it warmed up, but it restarted again afterwards. When it stalled however, i did notice a lag between pedal movement and engine revs and then it stalled. I think i have come to the conclusion that the fault lies in the throttle body sensor/magnets setup for the fly by wire system. Anyone had this issue? does this sound familliar to anyone??

SOURCE: I have a 96 cavalier z24. when I start it up the

See if there is a code in the computer and work from there. Find someone with an OBD2 code reader. If I'm not mistaken an OBD2 code reader works on 1996 and newer models. Could be a bad coil and you don't notice it when you first start it until it idles down, to check for that, while the engine is running, pull each wire off the spark plug, Each time you do that you should hear the engine struggle. Then pick back up once you plug it back to the spark plug. If you pull one and nothing happens to the engine, that could be all or part of the problem. Hope this helps.

I need a Car Manual for a 1998 Mitsubishi Legnum Viento GDI

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will have to buy one.,........unfortunately to provide one free and in its entire form, would be breaching copyright and therefore carries a few fines, that none of the experts would like to pay for.....

However, if you have a specific problem that we could help you with, please do not hesitate to post a further question.

Sorrry for the bad news..!!!
