Heater blower problem

How to replace heater blower motor on 2002 Hyundia XG350. Makes noise when turned on and noise gets louder when you turn speed up. Sounds like something rubbing when turned on. Also car takes long time for heat to come out of vents. Air is cool even when temp gauge shows that car is warm. Temp gauge will sometimes go much higher than it used to like thermostat is bad. Warm air comes out finally after running car much longer and will stay warm for most of the day when driving. Need help badly. Very low on money, I'm laid off and must try to repair myself

Under the hood of the car on the passenger side you will see a round motor sticking up.thats the blower motor there should be 3 screws holding it in place and one plug to unplug.you lift the old motor out and put the new one in in its place

AC Heater

It sound like the blower wheel of the blower motor is rubbing the inside of the housing (the smoke). Sounds like the blower wheel rubbing may have burned the inner plastic housing or has come off of the motor shaft inside. Take the blower motor and wheel back out and inspect everything closely I think you will find the problem.

Replace heater blower motor

working in there is no easy task,
why not put pressure on all the HVAC parts in cab, one by one
as it makes noise, to see if the sound changes.
its the blower bad
or there is debris stuck in it.
or there is a loose part near by that vibrates in sympathy to the fan vib's , some times one can put a wedge in the parts casings and stop noise.

the HVAC is like 8 hour, in +out. horrid job. and lots of things can get busted doing it. collateral damage.

login to alldata.com

and read the FSM , chapter HVAC.

When i turn my heater on (and also the ac) it makes a loud humming noise. as i turn it higher the noise gets louder. I have a 2001 chevy trailblazer.

It is possible that a stray leaf or piece of debris is stuck in the blower fan blades. This is more likely if the noise began suddenly. You will have to access the blower and remove it to inspect the blades. If their isn't an obvious debris problem, the blower fan bearing may be wearing out and getting noisy; although this noise would slowly get worse and worse every day.

Heater blower makes noise on high speed

it is either a bad switch or window motor. finding a wiring diagram and shooting power to the correct wire will identify whether the switch or motor is faulty.
