Question about Cars & Trucks
Back indicators not working but hazards working all round
Posted by Anonymous on
If the front lights work and the back don't the flasher unit is ok . There is a open circuit to the rear lights, check for a connector that has come apart or a broken wire.

You found this long ago I'm shure, but just in case. Flasher mounts on dash suport-bar way up behind the gauge cluster. Check out this site www.toyodiy.com It rocks lots of info.

You might have a blowen fuze. I would check that first. If it is blowen and continues to blow after replaceing it, then you have a short somwere in the wiring.

sounds like a bad flasher-they do occasionally go bad where they actually cause the turn signal lights to stop working all together.

Check the 4 way hazard flasher switch, jiggle it on and off with the indicators in the l or r position and you should get it to work.

I'd check with manufacturer of tow bar to be sure it bolts on the same etc. I'm sure they would give you that info, and if nothing else, call a place that sells them and ask for kit number for both vehicles & if they are the same number, well, just need to check that they bolt on exactly the same, that's why I would contact manufacturer for copy of install instructions for the new install.
