2004 grand prix heater will not blow hot air.

I changed the thermostat twice and that didn't fix it the temp gauge will fluxuate up and down in normal operating conditions. If the blower is run on low it does al little better but nowhere close to what it should do. Its getting cold....HELP!

heater only blows warm air, will not blow hot when set accordingly. Changed thermostat 195 degree, topped off antifreeze. bled thermostat housing, still just warm air. What is your solution ? Jerry

I have the same problem. It gets warm but not hot. It seems like it is just picking up a little heat off of the motor. I changed the thermostat and antifreeze and it's still barely getting warm. It's been this way for a long time last winter the blower motor went out (probably because I leave it at MAX heat all the time..lol) ANY IDEAS???

Hot heat at idle cool when driving

is there a chance that one of your heater hoses are clogged? or where they connect to the engine are clogged still? sounds like a clogged system. Cracked heater housing? Outside air bypassing the heater coil while driving?

Heat goes in and out and the temp gauge goes up and down

Your temp sensor has nothing to do with your heater. The temp sensor needs coolant in order to work properly. So first check the coolant level because if it is low your heater will act the way you describe. Once the coolant gets low enough the heater will blow cold. Another possibility is the radiator cap. After the engine has warmed up it expands when it cools down it contracts. As it is contracting if the cap is weak air can be drawn into the system and cause air pockets to form and will cause the same problem

My in heater in a 2007 grand prix doesnt work the air blows but isnt hot temperture gauge looks fine an have changed out thermostat

You have a plugged up heater core. Try pulling the heater hoses of where they go into the firewall, put a garden hose with a spray nozzle in one hose and gently flush the system out. you will need to pull both heater hoses off to do this.

My 2004 grand prix has a hole in the heater core. unfortually becuase of my financial situation i am not able to fix so i bypassed the heater core. but now my car is running hot. it never did before....

1) Are you sure that you got all the air out of the cooling system after your heater core bypass surgery?
2) Did you bypass the heater core by plugging the two hoses to each other, or did you cap the ends of the hoses? If you capped them, try using a pipe nipple to plug them together so water can move through the hoses.

THE CAR DON'T GET TO THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE

i dont think it needs a waterpump. what temperature thermostat did you put in? unless the fan is running all the time maybe. i would try another thermostat, the engine needs to be at least 195 degrees to produce decent heat.
