Question about Cars & Trucks
My first guess would be a failed sensor in the transmission. You should be able to get the computer scanned and run the codes to see what the computer is finding.

the valve body in the transmision is stuck or went bad,i woiul try some kind of transmision additve(lucas ect..)but it looks like the trany its on the way out.

its most likely an E4OD,its probably a bad shift solenoid inside the transmission...but you have to take the pan off and i cant quit remember but may also have to pull off the valve body,if that has to be done then there is 8 or 9 ball bearings in there that will fall out.I would call a transmission shop and ask if it has to come out.
