The connecting rod nuts for these engines use a combination torque, then turn method to achieve the proper clamping load. First the nut is torqued to 18 lbs.ft., then turned an additional 90°. It is possible for the rod bolt to slightly turn inside the connecting rod during this process, causing the final torque to be below specifications. The nut must be turned 90° relative to the bolt, not the connecting rod.

I have a 1999 isuzu amigo 2.2L are the camshaft bolts one time use only and were can i find new ones nobody has them


Camshaft bolts are not typically torque to yield fasteners one rule of thumb check is to see if the threads are stretched if they are TTY the threaded portion of the bolt will not be a uniform spiral if it is a uniform spiral the fastener has not been used to its tty and is still safe to use or it ios not a tty bolt

if the 8th number om your VIN is a "J" then this is the correct prossess 3.1LTorque sequence --------- ' 6 2 3 7 ' ' 5 1 4 8 ' --------- Step 1: torque in sequence to 37 Ft/Lbs Step 2: turn an additional 90 degrees recheck final torque in sequence *** CAUTION ***engine uses Torque To Yield head bolts (TTY) thatpermanently stretch during the initial installation.New head bolts must be used when cylinder head isreplaced or re-installed to obtain proper torque.Always coat bolt threads with the proper sealant.

Correct pressure for torque the head of mazda pickup 1998


Since you didn't say which engine you have, I've pulled torque specs for 3 different engines. Also, since I can't include a diagram showing the relative locations of the numbered head-bolt locations, it would be a good idea for you to purchase a vehicle specific repair guide that will show this info.


Take particular note about the TTY (Torque to Yield) bolts used on 2 of the 3 engines shown. It is said that new head bolts MUST BE USED when head is replaced or re-installed to obtain the proper torque.



B2500 4 Cylinder

Torque sequence: --------- ' 10 6 2 4 8 ' front ' ' ' 7 3 1 5 9 ' -----------Step 1: torque in sequence to 51 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque again in sequence to 51 Ft/Lbs Step 3: final tighten all bolts an additional 90 to 100 degrees recheck final torque in sequence *** CAUTION ***engine uses Torque To Yield head bolts (TTY) that permanently stretch during the initial installation. connecting rod caps cracked type rod-rod and caps must be kept in matched sets, recommend new bolts/nuts, spec is 32 ft lb. plus 105 degrees - torque each item to the correct torque then go back and do the degrees. these are torque to yield bolts and the procedure is very important.

For 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.4L SFI SOHC 4cyl the Head Bolt Torque sequence
------------ | 10 6 2 3 7 | | 9 5 1 4 8 | ------------

Step: 1 - Torque to 25 ft/lbs
Steps: 2 - Torque to 50 ft/lbs
Steps: 3 - Torque to 50 ft/lbs
Steps: 4 - Turn 90 degreesRecheck final torque in sequence

Caution:Engine uses torque to yield head bolts (TTY) that permanently stretch during initial installation. New head bolts must be used when cylinder headis replaced or re installed to obtain proper torque specification.
