Question about 1995 Volvo 850
I have wiggled and changed the circuit breaker in fuse 37 to no avail. One of the window switches in the center console is missing and it has been damp/rainy. Also the switches have been loose and I was finding that the when I started the car, the switch would be stuck 'on' for the driver window a lot. This may have caused a failure in the switch, master switch relay, but then would the sunroof also fail? thanks
Get yourself a wiring diagram & start a logical
process- of learning about what your trying to repair
Your just simply playing around- with no idea of how things work

Clear your engine and transmission codes, its a small box in the pass side engine compartment right behind the headlight. Search "Bay 13 Volvo" and that has all the information to check and clear the codes. It also has a list of what the codes mean to help you.

I had this problem and this may or may not be the solution. For me it was the drain tube, it was plugged but draining just enough to not overflow onto the passengers feet (actually it did once). What I believe was happening was the fan was throwing water and shorting out the climate control sensor. Once I got the drain cleared and the water drained I have not had the problem since. Side note, I was able to shut the car off then turn it back on to reset the fan and make it run again. This may not be what you are experiencing but at least its something to think about and maybe it might help someone else.

if you cant find any plastic that pops out and has screws underneath carpet inside center console if any, try pulling the switch itself and or assembly out. hit contacts with an eraser. and your favorite stuff. get a good manual.

Hi, the problem you are having is with the switch itself, this is a common problem so the switch is not expensive to buy.
once you replace the switch the lights will work as normal.
if it was just one light not working then you could say bulb if the high beam wasnt working then you could say it was fuse or relay but as you have high beam this would rule out them being the fault.
now the only other problem it could be is a wire so give the wires a bit of a wiggle at the back of the head lights then give them a try if they then work you may need to do some soldering to fix a loose wire but if they still dont work then this would suggest the switch itself is at fault.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

SOURCE: I have a 2005 volvo
You do not have to buy a new one, you can have the old one re-flashed or reprogrammed. Call these folks ACE Auto Computer Exchange (1 888 664 8787)(. I have dealt with them personally on a Honda issue, no problems. Next would be a auto salvage yard. You must find one from the same model, same acc. ie. Transmission, A/c etc. etc. This is where I would look for any relays and or other electrics I needed. Most good salvage yards will even offer a warranty on the parts. Meaning, they make good on a part you buy from them for up o 30 days. Finding one in a salvage yard gives a good Idea as to how things come apart with out messing up your car, if they allow you to pull the part your self. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.
