I am going to assume you have checked compression, do you know for sure the cylinders are getting fuel from the injectors, and spark at the plugs ?

My 98 gmc 1500 wont start its getting fuel and spark and air . after i take the key out the fuel pump is still running for a min or two i just put a new fuel filter in.

If your fuel pump is continuing to run with the ignition turned off, there is something terribly wrong. I don't even know where to tell you to start without seeing the vehicle myself. If it is getting fuel and spark, the only thing left to keep it from running is compression. I would recommend having a professional take a look at it. This just doesn't sound right.

Just had a new fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and coil pack put in, was getting 27miles to the gal, now I am getting 15!!!

possible problem is that you did not put ac delco plugs in the vehicle and now you are getting bad gas mileage.gmc vehicles only require that you put ac delco spark plugs any other type and you get bad gas mileage or poor performance

How long has it been since the spark plugs were changed? Sounds like a good tuneup is in order. New spark plugs(try the new E3 plugs, expensive, but worthit), Air filter, fuel filter, injector cleaner in gas tank.

1996 gmc sierra, have changed fuel pump and fuel filter. can smell plenty of gas coming out of exhaust pipe. tested for spark, have spark.. truck will crank but not start. what can i try or check now?

Check the timing and make sure the battery is good, the battery can sometime have the power to crank the engine but have internal problems that leave it without enough voltage to give you a hot enough spark to start the engine.
You could also have some bad ignition parts which could be shorting out your spark or sending it to the wrong spark plugs. Plus you could also have fouled spark plugs.
