SOURCE: cannot control engine rpm mitsubishi lancer engine

Your IACV idle air control valve has gone bad . When you put the car in gear does it take off and accelerate to about 50 MPH without touching the gas pedal ? Had the same problem. Part from Mitsubishi is about $435 PN # MR578268. It is about $30 to $50 dollars on any other car. If this is the problem, the IACV is located on the throttle body and is held on with three screws. I purchased the whole throttle body at a salvage yard for $40, took the IACV off and put it on my throttle body. Car works normal for now, I am looking for another spare. If enough people complain to MItsubishi and www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov

Mitsubishi lancer 2008 emitting black smoke wit high level fuel consumption effort trying fixing prove abortive, they all say is brainbox ,i search for but couldn't find the one that will match it

If you've had it professionally diagnosed and you they say you need a new ECM/PCM computer (it's not called a brainbox) search online for a rebuilder. They'll be a fraction of the price of new and even used. Just a note though, it's rarely the ECM/PCM. Black smoke means it's running too rich, so somewhere the computer is giving it too much fuel. That's usually caused by a bad engine coolant temp sensor or leaking fuel injectors. I think you're trying to replace the most expensive part first. Never a good way to approach car repair.

Lancer 2000 mx efi high fuel consumption

1. Check if the ECU is throwing any error codes.

Could be
2. O2 sensor(s) or/and clogged Cat converter
3. Dirty air cleaner
4. leaking injectors
5. Worn or broken rings: check the wet and dry compression.
Might even be the ECU itself, running in "limp" mode because of a partial board failure.

I Have a Mitsubishi Lancer 06, 1300cc when ac is

Welcome to the club, The AC units in cars use a large amount of power to run. Your is a 1300cc motor which is almost smaller then the AC unit itself, lol. What you have is normal and to fix it would be to get a bigger engine to run the AC. Everything strains a bit when the AC is on, all cars do it and yours being as powerful as a skateboard doesn't help. Your going to have to live with the problem of an under powered vehicle doing it's best to keep you cool. :.)

What is the best mitsubishi lancer 2000 / 1600 cc motor gas consumption ???? last time i checked it was 400 k.m per 41 liter . is it good or it could be better ?!?!?

the factory mileage for fuel should be 7.2 litres per 100km but the fuel consumption will change as the car gets older so its only normal but you could improve on your fuel consumption by tuning the car

hope this helps XD

My mitsubishi lancer model 2000 is having a fuel consumption pretty high. How can i fix it? It has no leak and the car is in good service under an expert mechanic. Any trick? Thanks,

The oxygen sensor on the exhaust does not function properly after a few years and may send the wrong signal to the ecu (computer) causing a richer mixture than nessasary to be burned in the engine. Ask your mechanic to replace the oxygen sensor if it hasnt been changed recently. They are not a particularly expensive item.

What could cause excessive fuel consumption

dirty air filter
bad plugs
low tire presure
bad plug wires
